New Ely Footage

Posted by: Loren Coleman on March 23rd, 2006

Richard Sade said he forgot that he captured more images on the original videotape, so he has posted new footage of the Ely Sasquatch running towards the road.

See it here.

Okay, what are we to think now?

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

  1. Quazie responds:

Thats a dude in a suit. Its walking just like i would if i was hopping through snow

“i have had this video for months and went through all the trouble of putting it on the web and on you tube, but i forgot this extra part that looks even faker than the rest”

  2. Craig Woolheater responds:

I thought that the Bigfoot walked in front of his vehicle. The “Bigfoot” is this portion of the video appears from the left of the field of view, apparently skipping to the tree that is is seen struggling next to in the original video that was posted.

Things that make you go hmmmmm…

  3. billkirbywofb responds:

This is way better than the original video. It is cleaner, shows more, and he forgot about it!!! At one time I thought that maybe, maybe there might be something to this video. But I now give a thumb down due to his “forgetfulness”, and his refusial to answer basic questions asked of him.

  4. draconica responds:

    ::solemn sigh:: I retract my previous optimism… it’s a man in a suit. =(

  5. ancient_robot responds:

I’m director and have worked extensively with motion-capture and one of my jobs is to study human motion. This is a person in a suit as it is obvious that the person in the suit is exerting himself to make large strides instead of having naturally large strides.

  6. Alex responds:

Too bad though, the set up was good

  7. Thomas J. Brown responds:

Has anyone else noticed this video?

I know it’s quasi-unrelated, but it made me laugh. At first, anyway. Afterward I wept for humanity.

  8. Freelancer responds:

He could’ve at taken our comments about the obvious red flags in the first video & at least TRIED to make a better one the 2nd time around. Jeez!!!

  9. Scarfe responds:

    Hahahaha.

Maybe he “forgot” to tell us why he just happened to have the camera set up until the “Bigfoot” ran into frame?

I think it is obvious that we should all call shenanigans on this one.

And people think that the Patterson-Gimlin footage is a man in a suit! Honestly…the differences are night and day.

  10. TheGoodReverend responds:

Finally, conclusive scientific proof that idiots with video cameras exist.

  11. Jack D. responds:

I’d ask why he stopped recording while the subject was still in view????? Forgotten? Or left out purposely? I’m strongly leaning toward FAKE.

  12. Scarfe responds:

Oh, and where’s baby? Has Mamma/Papa Bigfoot ditched the kid to run off into the blurry, blurry night?

  13. Matt K. responds:

Oh look, it’s a guy in a suit. Imagine that. Not only is he pointing the camera off into the middle of nowhere for no reason, as the mighty sasquatch lopes into the shot, but you can see the original tree and tracks from the first sequence to the far left. I won’t even bother going into all the things that are wrong about the video. In fact, I’m starting to think that this was probably shot in someone’s front yard.

  14. ZenBug responds:

    Sweet fancy Moses.

“Forgot that he captured more”? I can see his cassette label now:

    – Bigfoot
    – Walker: Texas Ranger
    – More Bigfoot

Strange how hoaxers always seem to be so bad at hoaxing.

  15. keeroc responds:

Well this second video helps in clarifying some things. The area for the first video is on the left side of the new video. The tracks made in the first video are visible in the second. So this video happens after the first. The thing in the second video appears maybe a little smaller but much more agile than the first. From the first video I clearly see the “thing” picking up what very much looks like a youngster and struggling up the hill with it (limping?) I actually felt that it was credible but the second video is a bit much. Now some thing runs back down the hill into the main area lit by the headlights. Why don’t we get to see the whole video rather than snippets ? We need the whole story and the whole video to detemine if it is worth spending a lot of time on. Somewhat intriguing. It looked to me like a young one was being gathered up in the first video. could it be that in the second video the – whatever it is- ran back to the other tree to gather up a second young one. But then why does the second video stop while the thing is standing right in the lights ? that raises suspicions. I’m sorry but I don’t see burlap bags, coats, and gorilla suits. More info is needed like the whole video and a detailed account that corresponds to the video. Documentation of the tracks would have been good.

  16. Baron Von Doren responds:

This is so bad as be annoying…

  17. mrdark responds:

Yep, he ‘forgot’ he had more footage of the world’s most infamous cryptid.

    MAN IN SUIT!!!
    MAN IN SUIT!!!
    MAN IN SUIT!!!

  18. erokv responds:

there is plenty of snow there and no one thought to follow the tracks? i would have no problem tracking that thing to the ends of the earth! (or at least until the snow ran out, which isn’t going to happen anywhere near ely that time of year). i know there are plenty of people in ely that have the knowhow and guts to do so as well. sorry, but HOAX

  19. sschaper responds:

A fake. Two attempts to make a video to get attention. Why the animal would run parallel to the road, after running up the bank makes no sense, just run along the road then, or stay hiding til the vehicle was gone.

  20. Alex responds:

I think that this particular hominid (read: guy in a suit) needs to lay off the six pack every night.
There aren’t too too many sightings here in Eastern Canada in the winter (correct me if I’m wrong) also.
My feeling is that a sasquatch wouldn’t feel the need to lift his/her feet to get through the snow either, that is a very human action, IMO.
    Sorry, good try, bad application

    Alex

  21. Doc responds:

Well, well ,well.HUUUUMMMMM !I will admit that the first submitted footage was much better than the -forgotten part.I veiwed it with a clear and open mind.I am not one to attack or try to act as if I know it to be a fake.Because I was not there and I dont know.I have veiwed several pictures and short films of these creatures ,that no other researcher ,that I am aware of ,has seen.I always tell people ,that it does not matter if it is real or not there is always gonna be somebody who will be all over you or as we all know ,will claim to be the dude in the suit and the only reason your speaking up is because you didnt get the 1000 bucks promiced you (L.O.L ).I believe this to be an unfair practice and most people who do it have never even seen a live Bigfoot in the wild–BUT—this footage that was just added I believe blows my first impression of the earlier segment out of the water. The creature in the secound film does not move at all like the real deal. Not at all ! It is in my opinion that this latest and forgotten segment should have stayed lost and forgotten.I do have to ask two questions. 1…the footprints, why are they coming from a differant direction than the footprints from the road, since he supposedly just happened to drive up to the scene and two why was the film edited and or slit to begin with.I enjoy knowing I can give a fair opinion of a new piece of footage but I am sorry to say that this last addition made it impossible for me to give it any crdit as the real deal.I know the film maker is reading this so my advise is to always tell the truth. The whole truth and nothing but the truth. Not to have forgetfulness and if your gonna go after something with a camera, well pick another cryptid because on this one your just out of luck. Thank you !

  22. Mnynames responds:

    Amen, GoodReverend…

  23. Grendel responds:

Well…. a lifelong skeptic, I am now convinced of the existence of bigfoot.

  24. youcantryreachingme responds:

As at 11:59 24th March AEST, the video is no longer there.

  25. fuzzy responds:

    Grendel? GRENDEL??
Wasn’t there a PROJECT Grendel, run by… oh, no, he’s found us!!

  26. keeroc responds:

Bottom line is there was not enough information to refute the video or confirm it. Apparently some of us thought it was more interesting than others. I hope someone ( webmaster ?) explains why the videos went away.
I would like to see all of the purported bigfoot films and videos available in the public domain. Most of them have some restricted access – doesn’t help much with credibility and scrutiny.

  27. ToddPartain responds:

    yep

  28. yooperboy responds:

I think this guy should be put in the “Guinness World Book Of Records“. For having the funniest Bigfoot hoax that has ever been recorded. I really like how the Bigfoot hops down the hill and then runs into a bush or something and stumbles backwards. LOL

  29. bertbuddy responds:

Does anybody know where we could find these videos and see them again?

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
