Texas Bigfoot Research Operation

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 8th, 2005

I have posted the after-action report from our latest research operation; Operation Thicket Probe. We had a film crew from the Travel Channel along on this outing, shooting for an upcoming episode of Weird Travels. We had a lot of new research equipment along that we were trying out for the first time. We had […]

Texas Bigfoot Reports

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 8th, 2005

I posted 2 new reports to the TBRC site today. One was a visual encounter by a mother and son of a Bigfoot in the road in Cherokee County last November. Mother’s sketch of what she saw. The other report was an aural encounter by a group of hunters in Anderson County in 2001.

Part VII… Bigfoot Sightings

Posted by: Rick Noll on October 6th, 2005

I hadn’t decided yet whether or not that if I was ever confronted with a Sasquatch out in the bush would I or wouldn’t I shoot it. In 1977 this was one of the hottest topics and of much interest to the media when doing stories on the subject… but here was, I presume, a […]

Ivory-Billed Woodpecker sighting likened to seeing Bigfoot

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 5th, 2005

Several quotes from the Mercury News about the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker. "The last universally accepted sighting of the woodpecker had been made in 1944. The last universally accepted drawn picture of the bird was made in 1948. Periodically, individuals surfaced who said they had seen an ivory-billed woodpecker, but they were ridiculed and all claims were disbelieved. […]

Bigfoot Given No Quarter

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 5th, 2005

The State Quarter Commission announced the five finalists for the Washington State quarter. While there were some creative entries, such as Bigfoot, the ubiquitous banana slug, UFO’s over Mt. Ranier and even our fine furred friend, Bigfoot. Even harder to believe is that while lattes made the list, the even more ubiquitous Starbucks or Microsoft […]

Part VI… Bigfoot Sightings

Posted by: Rick Noll on October 4th, 2005

My partner at the time was David Smith. We had some history together. We had first met when a newspaper ran an article about Dave putting together a Bigfoot expedition at Mt. Saint Helens. There was a big picture of him and a group of people with all their equipment laid out on a lawn. […]

Honobia Bigfoot Fall Festival in review

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 4th, 2005

Well, I attended the Bigfoot Festival last Saturday with a few other members of the TBRC, Texas Bigfoot Research Center. We arrived around 10 am for the event. There was a good turnout, they had over 500 people registered for the Bigfoot 5K run. I don’t know how many showed. There were lots of Bigfoot […]

Part V… Bigfoot Sightings

Posted by: Rick Noll on October 3rd, 2005

I want to go back in time a bit now, when I was younger, never married, no kids, had a different partner and ran after every person who claimed to have seen a Bigfoot. Maybe I got jaded along the way somehow. Speak up anybody who sees something I don’t…  But first an obscure Bigfoot […]

Cryptomundo Does Not Surface…

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 3rd, 2005

But there were 2 brief sightings of Bigfoot on the show at the "Southeast Cryptozoology Convention". I saw 2 characters in the background wearing our Texas Bigfoot Conference t-shirts. It was almost like seeing Bigfoot itself…fleeting. One of the guys was wearing our 2003 shirt. He was working the Bigfoot booth in the background in the scene […]

Part IV… Bigfoot sightings

Posted by: Rick Noll on October 3rd, 2005

3. Eyewitness Testimony Reading about someone seeing a Sasquatch is quite different than talking face to face with him or her. You pick up subtle clues as to the veracity of their claim and so far I have only met two or three people I did not believe, out of literally hundreds. I think this […]

Part III… Bigfoot sign

Posted by: Rick Noll on October 2nd, 2005

2. Sign.                                   No! Not this type of sign. This was take at the Historic Sasquatch Inn in BC, Canada on the way to see John Green at Harrison Hotsprings. As far as I can determine, no Sasquatch have really […]

Cryptomundo to premiere on NBC ’s Surface Monday !

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 2nd, 2005

Anybody watching Surface on NBC? I am, and I find it exciting that there is a cryptozoology themed show on primetime TV. Plus there is a Cryptomundo connection with the show. Back in June, I was contacted by the costume designer for the show, who wanted some t-shirts and ball caps from the event I host, […]

Holy Calamari!

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 2nd, 2005

Recently published photos of the first living giant squid (Architeuthis) even got a mention in the New York Times today. There was also a very interesting quote in the article: "Monster lovers take heart. Scientists argue that so much of the planet remains unexplored that new surprises are sure to show up; if not legendary beasts […]
