Alaskan Sea Monster Filmed by Tourist

Tourists caught the moment a huge sea creature surfaced during a glacier collapse in Alaska.

The clip shows a total of seven black fin-looking objects poking out of the water in front of the collapsed glacier.

The first three seemed joined together and are followed by a further four – as if showing the creature’s front and tail.

Looks remarkably like a crocodile tail. Saltwater Croc up there?

  2. gollumses responds:

Definitely NOT sturgeon (no rear top fin).

  3. springheeledjack responds:

It would be nice to get some scale…and it would be nice to see more footage if they have it. I’m assuming they were filming the glacier collapse and that showed up…but you know what assuming does…

  4. cryptokellie responds:

If you go to You Tube and view the footage selections there, you can plainly see that the multiple “humps and fins” images are the same two sections being copied digitally. The front humps have the same water reflections and displacements. The same holds true for back fins so one of the front humps is multiplied and one of the back fins is multiplied digitally. Also, at what must be an incredible glacier event then witnessing an astonishing appearance of a fantastic sea creature and we get one snippet at 8 fps from a boatload of tourists? I feel pretty sure this is a video with some digital manipulation added to it.

And what’s with the electronic, computer generated voice over? Sounds like the male voice on a GSP system with the British accent selection on.

  5. gr3enbl4ck responds:

The video looks doctored to me – the left three bumps appear identical and the water doesn’t seem to be waking properly.

  6. springheeledjack responds:

Hence the need to see the whole video…that small snippet can’t be the only thing they filmed if they were actually filming the falling glacier. you’d think people would have better things to do with their time…

  7. Goodfoot responds:

    cryptokellie:

I certainly can accept that this might be fakery. Digital analysis would have little difficulty making that determination. Would it be necessary to have the original footage to do so?

Something does seem fishy (ahem!) about this footage.

  8. mandors responds:

The “humps” don’t just look alike; they are identical.

They submerge with EXACTLY the same shadow patterns and wave patterns. Somebody probably took a couple of whale breaches and cut and pasted them together.

I love how the limey computer voice quotes online commenters, then calls them “truth seekers.” Well, this truth seeker says BOGUS.

Still good fun. Thanks for the early Xmas present, Craig.

  9. dconstrukt responds:

the video clip looks unusual… very low frame rate and resolution….

    it COULD be doctored.

wondering… is there any chance it could be a few whales, or some type of fish?

maybe some type of deformity? or something?

seems like it isn’t 1 animal, but possibly 2 different ones.

but hard to really tell with such a low quality video.

  10. Wee Falorie Man responds:

Where’s the rest of the footage?

If they were actually filming what they believe to be a sea monster, they would have kept on filming, I think.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
