Shooting Bigfoot: What the Rick Dyer Body Means for Sasquatch Research

Available on Kindle
Available on Smashwords

Publication Date: March 27, 2013

On the night of September 6, 2012, the premeditated execution of a male Sasquatch suddenly plunged eons of a rich relationship into raw, “snuff” pornography; it was a low point in the history of human ego. Sasquatch is our zoological next of kin; how, exactly, did Rick Dyer earn the right to slaughter one?

The purpose of this brief E-book is to place the San Antonio event, and its recent, explosive aftermath into a broader context than that of a carcass on a slab… or behind glass in a Las Vegas casino.

Say that we wished to learn more about a newly discovered tribe in the Amazon–would we trap one of them, blow his brains out, and haul him from the jungle and into a laboratory?

A quality of uncanny humanness has always been clear at Sasquatch “habituation sites,” places with which the hairy folk have become familiar. Throughout North America, certain people have experienced repeat visits to their homes and properties, often for years. Some have sought, in the peaceful spirit of Jane Goodall, to befriend these curious and tricky neighbors, and to foster (so to speak) an ongoing family reunion.

The recent Texas killing exploited another habituation site. Now an open season on Sasquatch may be at hand, unless halted by insight. We must welcome an immediate flowering of vivid backyard accounts, leading to familiarity, recognition, and protected legal status.

SASQUATCH RISING 2013 is the only available source to not only delve into the scientific revolution unfolding before us today but also to fill in the rest of the story, conducting readers behind the scenes at multiple habituation sites—in Iowa, New York State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, two in Texas, and Vermont. These first-person testimonials and the author’s own field notes show the subtle, surprising ways of our ancient living kin.

Dyer hasn’t even got a body,it was all a hoax,so how has this guy wrote about it,just another moneymaking scheme, probably has something to do with Dyer aswell. Whoever beleives this and buys it needs their head testing!!

  2. tpanek responds:

Rick has not come clean AGAIN with this so called shooting. Every day that goes by means it will be another hoax by Rick Dyer. The sands of time have run out.

  3. Raul Gonzalez via Facebook responds:

So I looked up the author, is it the same guy who has a ton of erotic porn books?

  4. Christopher Roxby via Facebook responds:

Am I mistaken, or is there as yet no evidence at all that this so-called “Dyer Shooting” has even taken place? How can you argue culpability of an action which may in itself be a hoax?

  5. Pete Fischer via Facebook responds:

They waited for one day after April Fools Day. I am still not sure the clowns in this circus have all of their elephants in the room, but it is April….time to put up or shut up, gang. Bring it.

  6. JE_McKellar responds:

Slightly O/T, but I think one way to resolve the kill/no kill debate would be to come up with a category of other animals that cannot be ethically killed, like great apes, whales, dolphins, and elephants. That way, no one has to trouble themselves with exactly how human a hypothetical Sasquatch is, if it’s at least as smart as a gorilla, then it gets protected, no questions asked.

  7. Goodfoot responds:

Absurdity heaped upon absurdity. And what’s with all the blackness in the clip? It’s a shame we have to contemplate such an important issue, when it’s raised by a complete flake.

    But contemplate it we must.

JE_McKellar, yeah, it must be understood that shooting a big fella will not be tolerated. It must be established as a crime before it really happens.

But that’s a pretty good Bigfoot drawing on the cover.

  8. edsbigfoot responds:

Has anyone else poked around on the “Minnow Films” website? They are supposedly producing the “Dyer film”. If you haven’t here’s the link:

Supposedly the guy under the “people” portion of the site was there filming when Dyer shot one. I sure hope its all a hoax, I’d hate to think one was really shot, and, as much as I believe a body will be imperative at some point, I think its just a matter of time before one is accidentally killed or part of one is found dead in the woods….or maybe one will be tranquilized when their existence is taken seriously.

If you go to the “in production” link it talks very briefly about the film. “IF”…they are for real, it looks like they are putting quite a bit on the line.

The whole thing is pretty weird.

  9. edsbigfoot responds:

In the “tent video” posted on this website, Morgan Matthews from Minnows Films is supposedly there….

After reading his bio, if this is a hoax, which hopefully it is…oh man, what does it do to this guys career?…

  10. David-Australia responds:

“So I looked up the author, is it the same guy who has a ton of erotic porn books?”

    As distinct from non-erotic porn…?

  11. PhotoExpert responds:

Not interested in anything to do with Rick the Liar Dyer.

I called BS when I first heard about it and my opinion has remained the same.

I am waiting for Biscardi to make an appearance any time now, though.

  12. edsbigfoot responds:

Well, the film “Shooting Bigfoot” is set to premiere at this Canadian film festival April 30…oh boy, May might be an interesting month…or it may not be too…who knows!:)

  13. edsbigfoot responds:

Oh ya, PhotoExpert you are right….the Minnows film site says the film features Tom Biscardi too LOL!

  14. not even wrong responds:

The “movie” by Minnow films is a self described mockumentary making fun of bigfoot researchers including the goofy (their words) Rick Dyer. There is no body, it was part of the hoax he promised he would do after the ’08 freezerfoot.

  15. DWA responds:

Writing a book about something that didn’t happen that isn’t fiction is gonna make it hard for me to take you seriously.
