Chupacabra Sighting in Texas

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 24th, 2013

SAN ANTONIO — Margaux Huckabay said her brother spotted the legendary chupacabra on Bitters.

“At first he thought it was a coyote,” said Huckabay. “It definitely looks weird.”

Her brother quickly grabbed his phone and started recording the animal as it tried to scurry away it glanced back at the camera.

“It has a really long nose and a really long tail,” Huckabay said.

She couldn’t believe it and still wonders if it was really the goat blood sucker everyone talks about.

Well, the video didn’t load fast enough for my tastes.

But that still allows for a pretty good educated guess: coyote with mange.

  2. PhotoExpert responds:

I guess for here on in, every sighting of a canid with sarcoptic mange is going to equal a chupacabra sighting. Oh, brother! Too bad for us true crypto lovers!

  3. volmar responds:

A coyote with mange plus a guy with a cell phone equals hoax Chupacabra movie…

  4. HulkSmashNow responds:

That looks nothing like an “El Chupacabras.” They can’t even say the name correctly!

  5. AreWeThereYeti responds:

@ PhotoExpert: It appears mangy coyotes ARE Chupacabras, at least as far as witnesses in the S.W. United States are concerned. Unless I’m mistaken, tests on existing specimens have yet to provide anything other than the expected canid DNA.

People here in the U.S. seem to accept hairless and/or mangy canids as the embodiment of the alleged beast – CASE CLOSED; something VERY different from the semi-upright, almost reptilian creature reported in Puerto Rico and various Latin American countries.

Based upon the reports to date, I would posit that “every sighting of a canid with sarcoptic mange is going to equal a chupacabra sighting” because that is, exactly, WHAT IT IS – at least as far as the media and general public have come to envision/accept it.

“Too bad for us crypto-lovers” – Indeed!

AreWeThereYeti–Hey buddy! Yep my friend, we are on the same page! You got that right! Like you stated: “something VERY different from the semi-upright, almost reptilian creature reported in Puerto Rico and various Latin American countries.”

They are the reports I want to hear about. But the media has embraced these canids with sarcoptic mange. It is a non-story for me, each and every time it is reported.

I think there was one DNA report that stated that it contained wolf or wolf hybrid DNA. But then again, that is still canid DNA and not a upright, bipedal, reptilian type creature, is it?

I think we are both just going to have to suffer through with these sarcoptic mange canid reports. Oh, brotherrrrrrr!

See you around Cryptomundo, AreWeThereYet! By the way, I have been enjoying your posts!

That’s not El Chupacabras, that’s the American Canicabra.
