Special thanks to Mr. Shawn Bannon for posting this amazing clip. It was a pleasure to go through frame-by-frame and spend this much time with. I’m afraid I’ll never see anything this good again.

While this is not real, I like it a lot.

I like the suit. I like the lightness it must have and the awesome flow of the long fur. I like how the actor works it. It deserves his own TV show, hopefully battling kung fu villians each week. Maybe an American version of this.

The give away for me is the first hop over the log, where he puts both feet on the log before jumping down. Very human move that gives away the actors true size and weight. But other than that well done- kudos!

The thing I really like about this video, is that now I imagine each bigfoot having distinct characteristics, instead of picturing them all looking alike.

This one is that cool long-haired bigfoot who is two grades ahead of you and has his own van and lets the younger bigfoot hangout with him, unlike the other bigfoots in that grade who are total dicks. Sometimes he buys beer or passes a joint, he is the bitchinest, coolest bigfoot ever, and turns everybody on to music they’ve never heard before.

I’ve decided to call him Bruce, and will spend the rest of the day at work watching his TV episodes in my head.

  2. DWA responds:

Well, at least we have these frequent chances to educate on the review of sasfootage due to the typical slow news days in cryptozoology.

    1. When there is virtually zero backstory, suspect a prank.

    2. When there is as much effort to capture a guy in a ballcap as the supposedly anomalous being supposedly the primary subject of the clip, strongly suspect a prank.

    3. When there has been nothing on this since 2006 (2006!?!??!)…well, dunno about you, but I’d sooner look for the answer on [Not] Finding Bigfoot.

  3. sasquatch responds:

The first jump (if real) is an amazing stunt. The way the left arm flies up looks real good as well…now the running shots are from different angles…this is a red flag to me. How do you re-position a Sasquatch or yourself fast enough to get shots like these?

The shots of it running L-R in the clearing are interesting…

The anatomy is well done (if fake)-it has a very forward projecting head-instead of up on top vertically set like a human.

However; if you had a large enough shoulder/head piece (presumably foam built over a padded situation)-then you could approximate this.

You could also pad up the legs to be real muscular looking.

The arms are very long too-extensions? Someone would really have to zoom in to see where the elbow breaks- to see if it looks correct….Now the skin looks kinda like an orange-y stretchy set-up to me…with long flopping orangutan inspired(if fake) hair.

This guy is a film student-maybe he has some budding Rick Baker friends that helped with this-and got one of the gymnasts from the local college team to play it?

Kids go to extravagant lengths for “Thesis films” at film schools-it’s the ticket to the BIG Leagues…

I know some kids in film schools and they do amazingly professional looking shorts sometimes. AND WILL put out good money (from Daddy usually to get props,make-up, etc.)

I don’t see evidence of CGI however-but it’s a computer screen so…Not sure on this one.

  4. dconstrukt responds:

if you have to slow it down and zoom it in…. i think its a major fail.

  5. springheeledjack responds:

I apparently missed out on this when it hit originally…hey, I’m a water cryptid follower by trade. The first vid–yeah, there’s plenty of reason to be suspicious. With little backstory, and the guy’s career, and so on, there’s all kinds of proverbial red flags.

However, I was impressed with Shawn Bannon’s frame by frame. Like I said, I’m not in the know on this footage, but am I correct in assuming the footage in the Bannon video is extra stuff that never made it to the original youtube posting? Or is it just enhanced from the end of the first segment? But his picking it apart and really analyzing the movement, the musculature and the hair, did impress me.

Give me more facts…or I’ll do some digging when I get time this weekend:)

  6. Wee Falorie Man responds:

Bigfoot is running almost directly toward the camera, then at about 0:27, the camera suddenly cuts off and the next part shows the bigfoot running in another direction.

Why would the cameraman decide to turn off the camera at precisely the worst time, i.e., when he would have been able to get the closest clearest shot?

  7. BigfootLives1971 responds:

I watched this video when it first came out on a site called cryptozoology.com. Within days, they were able to label it as a hoax, but I cannot remember exactly why. They archive all blogs/feedback, so one with the time and inclination would be able to find the difinitive reason why it was deemed a fake.

  8. Peltboy25 responds:

Even if I had shot this, and knew from personal experience that it was all legit, I would have a hard time sharing because it looks so incredibly awful.

  9. Hapa responds:

This is one of the most interesting and curious set of bigfoot films I have ever seen. The creature looks less like the normal man-in-the-suit, looking more anthropoid than even Patty in the Patterson/Gimlin film (Not saying the latter is a person in a suit, it is not. Just stating how more animal this creature looks than Patty). The creature is more bestial in appearance.

However, we should remember that appearances can be deceiving. Sure, the person who made the film footage might not have access to such a superb FX monster suit, assuming that this indeed is a hoax, but then again we are not presented with a close enough, clear enough imaged to tell just how realistic, how well done this suit is, if we assume it is one. And we have to remember that if this is legit, if this is a bonafide sasquatch, it is still not proof: only a body, major parts of a body, a live specimen, or a fossil will be proof, bar none.

I personally am skeptical of the films: it is far unlike what we see in the Patterson Gimlin film (which is most likely of the actual animal) and what is seen in many sightings ( I don’t think I know of a case of a drawing or a film that is considered authentic of a sasquatch that shows such a massively muscular frame).

Only real physical proof, like what I stated above, could shed light on whether this is indeed a hoax, or the real thing…

  10. William responds:

Everyone thought this was a fake here in 2007 so why would that change by revisiting it now? If this was a B movie it would get an F rating.

  11. Kopite responds:

C’mon folks this is clearly a fake. You can tell right away it has arm extensions. Look at how high the elbow location is and how long the forearms are. The length of the arms are mostly in the forearm. A dead give away of arm extensions. That’s what they look like.

Now compare it to Patty where Patty has a much lower elbow location than a human and comparatively short forearms. You can’t replicate that in a suit.

This is fake and its covered with so much hair that you can’t even make out any form definition except the arms. Again, that’s typical of a suit.

  12. Goodfoot responds:

Wee Falorie Man: I see what you are talking about, but I’m not sure your analysis is correct. I just don’t know. The movement, the movement of musculature – if fake, this is absolutely world-class special effects work – with a man in a suit who ought to be in the Olympics. There is extreme athleticism evidenced herein. And I agree this (seems to) show a creature that is, if real, much more bestial than Patty.

William: what is the connection between everyone in 2007 “thinking” this is fake, and this being a lousy job? It is a superb job, if it’s fake, yet you don’t want to give credit where it’s due. What’s up with that? I’m picking up some fear vibes on your part. What are you afraid of?

  13. cryptokellie responds:

Athletic man in a padded, shaggy suit. The incredible jump is half hidden by foliage and is probably not quite the physical feat that it’s being claimed to be.

  14. Wee Falorie Man responds:

Goodfoot, it seems very fishy to me that the cameraman would decide to shut off the camera as the bigfoot is approaching – at exactly the time when he would be able to get the clearest possible picture, then when the bigfoot is further away, he turns it back on again.

  15. Kopite responds:

    Goodfoot,

It has all the hallmarks of a hoax and a suit. There is little form definition, it’s all covered in long shaggy hair, the arms are long with obvious extensions (look where the elbow is and look at how long the forearm is) and finally it’s a typical hoax scenario where they don’t show too much, just enough to tantalise.

    Hoax for sure.
