Cryptomundo to premiere on NBC ’s Surface Monday !

Anybody watching Surface on NBC? I am, and I find it exciting that there is a cryptozoology themed show on primetime TV. Plus there is a Cryptomundo connection with the show. Back in June, I was contacted by the costume designer for the show, who wanted some t-shirts and ball caps from the event I host, the Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference, for the characters on the show to wear to a fictional Cryptozoology Convention. The character played by Jay R. Ferguson, who becomes obsessed with the strange sea creatures after his brother is dragged to the depths of the Gulf of Mexico and apparently eaten by one of the creatures, drags some of the other characters to the convention.

I supplied them with t-shirts from our last 3 conferences, as well as provided our logos to be used for booths and banners for the convention. I also told them about Cryptomundo, and they loved the name and wanted to use it in the show as well. So…we had some Cryptomundo ball caps made up with our logo for some of the characters to wear.

Keep your eyes peeled to see if you spot the Cryptomundo caps on the show. The first person to comment to the site after the show airs stating that they saw our logo on the show, wins a Cryptomundo ball cap, just like the ones worn by the characters on the show.

If the the episodes  are shown in order, the convention episode will air on Monday, October 3rd. I didn’t see any shots of the convention in the previews after last week’s episode. The synopsis for tomorrow’s episode posted on the TV Guide website lists "Sea creatures cause disaster on a Texas lake."
