In Search of Living Dinosaurs

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on April 1st, 2013

The last time we heard from Dino Dave Woetzel here at Cryptomundo, he’d had an Ogopogo sighting and taken a photo of the alleged creature.

Now he has a new book coming out later this month!

Chronicles of Dinosauria

Book description from Amazon:

Publication Date: April 16, 2013

Explore legends, mythical sightings, and intriguing explorations from around the globe!

Enjoy the unique combination of visual illustrations and unforgettable accounts. Discover why the author calls into question what we’ve been taught to believe and understand about the history of dinosaurs and man.

Every legend is said to include some grain of truth, and for years co-author Dave Woetzel has sought to separate fact from fiction as he explores mysteries related to dinosaurs, mankind’s history, and the biblical time-line. Teaming with artist and designer Richard Dobbs, the two have created a visual archive of expeditions and intriguing clues to explore, all of which highlight the connection to the authority and reliability of Scripture.

Provocative artifacts from around the world are examined in an exquisite, full-color book that hints at man’s familiarity with living dinosaurs. Studies point to more than simple answers beneath the waves of Loch Ness, and other sites around the world, many investigated personally by the author. Here is the study of cryptozoology and the discoveries that seem to defy all evolutionary time-lines, vividly illustrated and filled with rare photos.

About the Author

“Dino Dave” Woetzel was privileged to grow up in a Christian home and, as a child, accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was fascinated with dinosaurs at an early age and grew to love science. Dave graduated from Bob Jones University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. He currently resides with his wife Gloria and two children in Concord, New Hampshire, where he is the president of CCR Data Systems, a technology firm.

Dave has had numerous opportunities to speak on the topic of Science and the Bible around the world. In 1999 Dave started the Genesis Park website which showcases evidence that men and dinosaurs coexisted, much of which is now included in this book.

He has also spearheaded some fascinating expeditions that have earned him the nickname “Dino Dave.” These include a trip into the unexplored African rainforest of Cameroon; travel to a remote volcanic island in Papua New Guinea; an expedition up the Amazon through the Madidi River in Bolivia; an investigation into the swamps of Lake Bangweulu, Zambia; research at Scotland’s Loch Ness; pursuit of swimming monsters in Lake Champlain and Lake Okanagan in North America; and research on Lake Nahuel Haupi in South America.

Richard D. Dobbs, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia and also grew up with Christian parents. He was a dinosaur fan for as long as he can remember and began drawing pictures of the great reptiles at an early age. Richard discovered he had gifts in art and music and desired to spend his life devoting these gifts to God’s glory. While still a young man Richard experienced God’s love and grace and, at the age of 13, was baptized to publicly confess his devotion to Christ.

After high school, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was assigned to Camp Pendleton where he played in the Band. In 1989 he participated in Desert Storm as an M-60 Gunner, providing security detail. In 1991 he showed his personal art portfolio to the Camp Pendleton Art Department and was accepted into their graphics team despite his lack of formal training. After leaving the Marines, Richard earned an Associate’s Degree in Commercial Art from Johnston Community College in Smithfield, North Carolina.

Richard works as a freelance artist and graphic illustrator. He enjoys fine art projects like portraits, paintings, murals, and book illustrations. Richard lives near Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife Carrie and three daughters.

    Man and dinosaurs co-existed? Pass.

  2. Raiderpithicusblaci responds:

Indeed they did….even as they do now.

  3. wuffing responds:

Any reasonably experienced person will recognise that Ogopogo as a boat wake. They will also know that fully aquatic creatures avoid swimming quickly at the surface for any extended period of time precisely to avoid wasting energy on making waves like those. Fakers should really up their game!

  4. bgibbons responds:

@Wuffing, As I explained before, three humps broke the surface clearly & briefly directly ahead of our boat, then moved rapidly away to the south before submerging after a few seconds. The photograph does not do the sightning any justice at all. The Ed Fletcher photograph of 1976 would be more in keeping with what we observed, except we were closer to the creature.

If Dave and I wanted to “fake” any photograph or footage, we would have done a much more impressive job!

  5. Redrose999 responds:

Good lord, this disgusts me, lets ignore two centuries of palentological and geological evidence, this isn’t science it’s wishful thinking.

  6. PhotoExpert responds:

Hmmm, the book sounds like very interesting reading. I always come to and approach cryptozoology with an open mind. It pays off to be objective like that.

I see comments before about this photo. Most suggest it is boatwake. And I tend to agree with that both personally and professionally. But we as viewers are only subject to analyze the photo at hand. Even in legal proceedings, photos are great but they are limited in telling the whole story. That is why “eyewitness accounts” hold legal authority in courts of law. Based on the photo alone, there is not enough information to say what it is because the water obscures the subject of the photo. However, we can plainly see waves. The simplest explanation is easy, it is most probably boatwake. But if we take in eyewitness accountability, the analysis becomes more complex. We can not exclude eyewitness testimony if a person is to remain truly objective in gathering data.

Secondly, it may not be your theory and it may not be my theory, but there is a theory backed by examples of evidence that indeed, dinosaurs coexisted with man. On some preColumbian rocks there appears to be two different kinds of dinosaurs among other animals. These rocks were found in the jungles of South America. Other examples include miniature stone carvings of various dinosaurs that look exactly what scientists have determined they looked like. How could this be?

Well, they these ancient people either used their imagination, carved the stone and got it spot on or, or, …they actually saw these creatures during their lifetime.

There are also temples in Asia that depict dinosaurs carved into the stone and pillars that match scientific drawings of what dinosaurs actually looked like. How can they be so accurate? And Asia is a separate land mass than South America. Also, the cultures are extremely different, even in ancient times, but the depictions of dinosaurs are there.

So I would not be too quick to throw out the baby with the bathwater. The more scientists find and study evidence, the more one’s view may change. But these are not the only only examples. Many scientists thought that ancient Egypt was where came from. Now we have contradictory evidence that this is not true.

Scientists have found evidence that civilizations existed in India, 10,000 years earlier than previously thought. And new finds of earlier civilizations are being found just outside Turkey in Gobekli Tepe.

So just because science says it is not so one year, they may change their mind the next, as evidence comes to light. One would be foolish to think that what applied to science before or while they were growing up is the end of the story, would be wrong. In fact, it would show stupidity.

Watch, listen and learn. Be objective. So personally, I am open to the theories presented here. I will read the book. And I will come to my on conclusions based on the evidence presented. Some will just think what they learned in the past is fact. They will not be open or use objective reasoning. And therein lies their downfall on gaining knowlege and accurate information.

  7. Mastiff70 responds:

Eyewitness accounts are some of the most discredited testimony in a court of law. Time and time again defendants have been freed after real tangible evidence was found to prove their innocence.

The author claims a B.S. degree from Bob Jones University, this is as meaningless as eyewitness testimony. First it doesn’t tell us what field of science and the other problem is the university who bestowed it. Bob Jones U. is not a respected institution when it come to science. They treat the Bible as a science book and advocate a young earth theory of creation. Young earth creationists search out dinos and various cryptids in the belief that their discovery will disprove evolution. Does the author have a degree in archeology, paleontology, or geology? What formal training does he have in the research of large land animals?

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
