Irish Bigfoot Captured on Camera?

Is this a picture of the British Bigfoot? Mother out walking her dogs snaps ‘sasquatch’ in Northern Irish woods

Maxine Caulfield discovered mystery creature in her photos of woods
She had been walking her dogs in ‘haunted’ Slieveanorra in Northern Ireland
Mother-of-one claimed the animals used ‘sixth sense’ to spot the ‘beast’

A mother walking her dogs in a forest thought to be haunted was stunned when her pets suddenly stopped to stare at a ‘creature’ that some are claiming is Bigfoot.

Maxine Caulfield was strolling through an area known as Slieveanorra in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, when she claims her pets used their ‘sixth sense’ to seek out the figure among trees.

But it wasn’t until she arrived home and uploaded the pictures that she and others noticed the spooky outline of what looked like a furry beast lurking in the woodland.

Ghost stories have been told about Slieveanorra since October 1942, when a US Air Force B17 Flying Fortress bomber crashed into a mountain there, killing eight of the ten people on board.

Mother-of-one Ms Caulfield, 49, said: ‘I haven’t got a clue what it is but when I saw it, it really freaked me out. It’s not like anything I’ve ever seen before.

‘The dogs are normally full of energy and never stop running but when we went through that part of the forest the just stopped still and stared in the same direction.

‘It was as if they knew something was there. I couldn’t see anything at the time but when I got home and showed people the pictures it was spooky.

‘People were pointing out its face and saying it was Bigfoot. I’ve always been pretty open-minded about the paranormal.

‘I don’t disbelieve, and this has really reinforced my view that there could be something out there.

  1. Goodfoot responds:

    Is it wearing bib overalls?

  2. mandors responds:

Nah, that’s dragonfly necklace. Just kidding!

Okay, so how does a supposed living, breathing, MOVING creature have snow cover when the trees around it don’t? It doesn’t. It’s a fixed object that kind of looks like a bald head and shoulders.

  3. thescaly1 responds:

    Indeed, mandors.
It’s right ‘arm’ seems to thin strangely beyond the elbow to appear more like a branch than anything else.
Her dogs apparently noticed it but she didn’t see it until she viewed the photographs at home. The whole thing seems weird and is probably a case of imagining the form of something else in a curiously-shaped stump.
Curiously-shaped stumps exist, without a shadow of a doubt.

  4. gazsheard responds:

    Its a tree stump.

  5. cryptokellie responds:

This is case of where objects and background blend in the mind to form whatever your looking for. In this case a figure/Bigfoot. The figure’s bent leg is very clearly a tree stump. Once that is realized, the rest of the body becomes a play of light and dark areas of the foreground and background elements blended by the focal length of the camera. Note that it wasn’t until reviewing the pictures at home that the strange figure became apparent.
If that was a real moving figure, the photo-taker would surely have noticed it. Also, I believe that this cropped image supplied is a small area inside the entire photographed image, lending to the mysterious figure visage. See that in the selfie taken by Ms.Caulfield, the leaves on the fronds behind her are in sharp focus showing the depth of field of the camera. Nothing is in focus in the “figure” image suggesting that this small area of a larger photo is way in the background.

Maxine’s eyes and expression creep me out worse than the photograph of the what’s-it in the background…

From the article it sounds to me like she didn’t even notice “it” until she developed the pictures. From the article’s slant it was more of a “ghost” or some which as opposed to a Bigfoot walking through the countryside…

Of course it is Ireland we’re talking about and they’ve got a crazy huge history of weird creatures, elves, fairies and so on. Either that or my old friend, pareidolia.

When I think of a credible source on issues of cryptozoology, the paranormal, the occult, etc… it has to be a goth chick with white eyes, a half dozen facial piercings, a strange pendant of power, and weird tattoos. I’m sure such a person would never exaggerate or make up stories to seek attention or attempt to create confusion and awe in others. I think you’d have to be a damn fool not to believe whatever she tells you….

What do you think the odds are that she drank some sort of blood within 24 hours of taking that photo of herself? I’d say at least 3:1.

  8. springheeledjack responds:

    NMRNG,

I wasn’t trying to be nasty–just saying that the eyes and the smirk was creeping me out πŸ™‚ Just FYI tats and piercings and new age does not necessarily mean blood drinking stoner πŸ™‚

I think if she didn’t see anything at the time, and even though her dogs freaked out, the what’s-it by the tree doesn’t necessarily mean it was a spirit/bogey/fae or anything odd.

What she needs to do is go back to the spot and take pictures of that area (not to mention look) to see if that same shape is still there. OR, she said she was taking pics, so let’s see what the others show (ASSuming Maxine took more than one in that area–and since she thought something was out of whack, if it had been me, I’d have taken a bunch).

And yes, she did say “pictures” so let’s see the others…then if there’s nothing else, then we can entertain the blood drinking stoner theory…

  9. NMRNG responds:

I never called her a stoner and I’m not sure there’s a correlation between being a goth and drugs (as the saying goes, I am neither a goth nor have I played one on television). But the black lipstick and white contact lenses are what makes me think she has Fangtasia and Team Edward shirts in her closet that she takes more seriously than the average Twilight or True Blood fan-type.

  10. springheeledjack responds:

    Hahahahaha….

    You might have a point.
