Jeff Meldrum on Rick Dyer’s “Hank”

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on January 7th, 2014

In reference to speculation that he was one who had endorsed “Hank” by folks reading into Robert Lindsay’s statement:

Rick Dyer has a taxidermied Bigfoot! I can now confirm with 100% accuracy that Rick Dyer does indeed have a taxidermied Bigfoot. I say this because this news has been independently confirmed for me by a number of extremely credible people in Bigfootery who investigated it themselves and then reported back to me. None of them were past Dyer supporters and they all absolutely hate Rick Dyer, so there is no pro-Dyer bias involved; on the contrary, there is a lot of anti-Dyer bias involved. All were either Dyer skeptics or Dyer fence-sitters.Robert Lindsay

“Hank” is one of the most poorly constructed sideshow gaffs I have ever seen. Was this a grade school project?

I realize this is a dead art form that some are willing to revive- more power to those people. This is a pretty poor example of any type of art form, except perhaps the art of misanthropy.

Dyer seems to show nothing but comtempt for the art of gaff construction, and the art of promotion. He seems to have a hatred for his audience, his subject, and the world at large.

A person could make just as much sideshow money with love as they can with hate. What a sad sorry individual this man is.

I hope he finds what he is looking for, even if it is just a bag of money that he feels he fleeced off of a bunch of rubes. If he were to meet this hollow goal, he might be at a point where he can start his real journey through life.

Please tell all your friends and acquaintences that they should spend their money on worthy exhibits like Museum of the Weird, and do give their 2 bits to Dyer when he rolls into their town. Minnesatoa Iceman offers more bang for your buck, and you’ll feel the warmth of love when you touch the ice.

To me one of the biggest mysteries in crypto – much more than sasquatch – is what, precisely, motivates people like Rick Dyer and Robert Lindsay.

“Hank.” Shoot something and call it “Hank.” Who does that?

Tell the world you know something because of what a bunch of very very unspecified people – one of whom I’d think you’d want to have on board but clearly isn’t – allegedly told you. Who does that?

    Scam artists?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…

  3. hoodoorocket responds:

Meant to say do NOT give your two bits to Dyer. Plenty of dime museums and curiosity sites that deserve your patronage instead.

  4. sasquatch responds:

He can’t even get the shots of THIS “Hank” to look the same as the first close up posted-it had much more hair close to the eye-brows…
This shot shows the model with more of a receding hair-line above the left eye.
    What a doofus.
Uh, I mean-what doofus would believe this is real?

  5. Gene Baade responds:

It certainly appears that two features of the video face/head and the same on the taxidermy subject are contradictory. Video shows very high forehead up to hairline. Tax subject shows relatively low forehead to hairline. Video, even if not clear, shows little or no mustache. Tax subject shows huge bushy mustache that would make a mustache man proud.

Robert Lindsay seems to be totally lacking in judgement and incredulity regarding this absurd and obvious fake. Its not even on a par with the FeeGee Mermaid or many less famous sideshow gaffes. Elementary school kids have seen this and laughed at it, but Lindsay is in awe and thinks this time, finally, Dyer is on the up and up and is the true hero of bigfooting.

  7. springheeledjack responds:

I started reading the first paragraph by Lindsay and thought it was Meldrum. I about quit breathing. 🙂

    Good call, Meldrum.

And yeah, why is it people are soooooo completely bored that they have to spend time making up crap for whatever personal reason instead of actually doing something constructive.

Go take up painting by numbers or becoming the best online gamer or something.

It is now clear to me that Tom Biscardi is behind this pathetic farce.

HIMSELF. You forgot the prime mover in this mess, I think: His contempt for HIMSELF. His disdain of, and his intense dislike of, HIMSELF.

Hoodoorocket, an excellent post indeed. I live for posts such as that one here.

  10. Kopite responds:

Agree with Meldrum. Even the Minnesota Iceman hoax of the late 1960s looked far better than this monstrosity.

  11. hoodoorocket responds:

    @ Goodfoot:

    That is good insight.

I think you have put your finger on something that confuses a lot of us, myself included, about the motivation of these characters.

Their egocentricity is the center of their universe. It is a sociopathy (not psychopathy) that allows them to ignore reality. They remain perpetually on the crest of circumstances they create. They will continue to surf the big wave as long as they can continue to reel off the fabrications they are riding on.

The problem is not with what the world at large sees and thinks. The problem is that when they run out of steam, the wave drops them on the rocks of their self-loathing. They invent entire oceans to cover their self-loathing.

Let’s take bets on how long it is until Dyer ends it all in a seedy motel in Oxnard. Double your money if you guess how close it will happen to that one last “press conference” he scheduled but never makes it to.

Wait, on second thought, betting would be tasteless. We’ll just have to watch and see, and offers condolences when the train finally crashes.

Springheeledjack–I did the same thing!!! lol!
