Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 5th, 2014

Apparently Jules ain’t the sharpest hammer in the bag, lol. At least he didn’t hurt himself while wailing on that new trap (other than aggravating his hernia which he clutches at 1:33).

I did feel a pang of regret when he grabbed the shovel, but then opted for the sledge mallet. Over head shovel wailing is always enjoyable to watch.

Good to know there will still be mind-numbing shows to watch once “Finding Bigfoot” is gone.

The bent trap is an antique and not comparable in any way to the brand new double coil he was stompin’ on with his shrimp boots.

The antique has fresh rust around the damage, but it’s a good bet that 100 year old thing wasn’t up to any task other than decorating a wall.

Give me a rusted antique, and I’ll hand you some mangled iron that looks like his before Jules finishes another beer. I’ll also do it in crocs with no socks, just to one-up the rubber shrimp boots angle. I will insist that the long springs be disabled first just like the specimen Jules is holding- no way that thing could have been set for a swamp ape to step on in the first palce…

I don’t have sound at work, so I didn’t get to hear the drama, but the mangled gray metal cabinet that they were inspecting had paint loss at the bends that would be made from metal on metal. Vise grips and pry bar are much better suspects than flesh and bone.

Forgot to mention, the deformation on the trap jaws spells out how it was done. Insert two sticks or bars into the jaws, push one in one direction while at the same time pushing the other stick in the opposite direction. Scissor them down as far as you can by hand, apply shrimp boot if necessary.

This will cause the humps and dips that do not match on each jaw, as is clearly on display in the video.
