It was as if she could see everything laid out before her. For the first time, Gracie understood clearly that her soul and Zari’s were irrevocably connected. But they were from different worlds. How could they ever be together? Or were they even supposed to be together? Had she made a mistake? Or had this been her destiny all along? She didn’t have answers, and her thoughts haunted her.

When Gracie McKay becomes lost in the Pacific Northwest wilderness, she’s rescued by the elusive, magical forest people, an event that hurls her into a dangerous supernatural journey that changes her life forever-and leads her headlong into her destiny.

After straying during a hike with friends, Gracie, a shy city girl of nearly sixteen, is befriended by Telacki, a daughter of the fabled forest people who are ancient and magical. As a result, Gracie is ushered into a world of mystical creatures and untamed wilderness fraught with danger.

When an evil clan captures Gracie and Telacki, the girls are catapulted into life-threatening circumstances they must escape. While imprisoned, Gracie meets Zari, a handsome young man who tries to help them, and an unexpected but destined love blossoms between the two. Only by working together can they overcome the perils they encounter in this strange world. But can Gracie and Zari’s love endure when they confront their ultimate challenge-combining their very different worlds as they attempt to forge a future together?

About the author:
Dr. Melba S. Ketchum moved to a small rural town in a forested area of Texas after graduating from Texas A&M University with a doctorate in veterinary medicine. She practiced as a veterinarian for several years before entering the field of genetics and becoming the director of a large laboratory. Melba continues to work in the field of genetics and lives in an area where there are frequent sightings of the Forest People reported, making her privy to the local lore surrounding them. This prompted her to write the first installment of the Mystic Forest saga in 2013.

    “Mystic Forest Wishes.”

    Let me try one.

I wish my slapdash science could be taken seriously.

See, instead of going into a thorough defense of her testing and the samples to which it was applied, she shoots off into novels. Whatever this is, it is not a “take me seriously” flag.

    “Melba Ketchum Writing Sasquatch Fiction”

    Truer words were never written.

  3. Goodfoot responds:

Wow. Melba is as predictable as your response.

  4. cryptokellie responds:

Is it “Art imitating life” or “Life imitating art.”…I forget.
Or perhaps, “If you can’t beat ’em – join ’em.”

  5. Goodfoot responds:

Many times, I have no idea what you are talking about. It seems to me you are just asserting you’re smarter than everyone else. We know you’re intelligent; there’s no need to try and prove it.
