Here is exactly what I seen, I’m not sure what it is but can someone please tell me? Is there a person who can do video analyses or something? I got scared and ran away, i wish i stayed to keep taking the movie.

Date: october 24 – 2013
Where: about 9 miles west of Tunica, Mississippi on my hunting property
Time: about 6pm

I was out hunting hogs, just sitting in a part of the swamp i have heard em before…it is not too far from a road. I was wearing hunting camo and just sitting dead still waiting for it to get dark, cause thats when the hogs come out. I hear a noise behind the tree i was sitting on, i thought it was the hogs, when i got around i could not believe my own two eyes.

There was this huge black thing crouched by a dead cypress about 50 yards away, i thought it was a hog but saw these big shoulders and a head upright with hands. It looked like it was digging out the stump. My first instinct was to run, i did not even think of shooting…then i know no one will believe me…it was like everything slowed down…i was scared! I took out my iphone and started videotaping it..i guess i pushed the record button twice cause it stopped blinking red.. but i pushed it again. I hear a truck driving down the road and the thing stood up!! I was trying to be dead quiet…when it stood up i could not control myself and ran. That stump was huge and i’d guess the sucker was 7feet tall, i am a hunter and am pretty darn good at guessing size.

that’s no bear!

I don’t know what to think.. if someone can tell me what it is or if somone was trying to prank me i, I don’t want to go back on my land. this is the first movie i have ever put on youtube..the video looks better on my phone and computer

I always heard stories of skunk ape and honey island swamp monster from these parts but never thought about it being real ever.

has anyone seen anything like this in mississippi?Josh Highcliff

  1. DWA responds:

I’ll get Biscardi right on it.

  2. Ken Morrison via Facebook responds:

I think you nailed it, a huge black thing…why didn’t he zoom in? Or try and get closer, or stop taping?? odd…..

  3. Robert J North via Facebook responds:

I dunno, looks like a dude in a gorilla costume from this angle.

  4. Steve Porterfield via Facebook responds:

So tired of this kind of video.

  5. Mike Conley via Facebook responds:

didnt look like a suit at all. thats a sas eating grubs from a dead tree.

  6. vamelungeon responds:

Ho hum…your hunting property? With all that unnecessary movement by you I can’t imagine you have much success hunting. Why run away at the end? That clinched it for me- FAKE.

  7. Ploughboy responds:

    Hmmmm……

Well DWA, we know of hunters in that position, right? (Video does confirm he was wearing camo, as described) Behavior? Not a stretch at all. Habitat? Seems to fit. Does the scenario match others we’ve had described? Oh yeah. As you know, I never see the need to say anything definitive about these clips. I do think though it deserves to go on the pile, don’t you?

  8. Hapa responds:

Interesting video. The creature, if it is a creature, looks more like a real ape than a guy in an ape suit from first glance. I think I even saw some silver coloring on its back, like a silverback gorilla. Looked like a real animal eating or making a nest. However, the tape is blurry, and when the animal arose the guy filming it ran off; though understandable due to fear, it means that we cannot see how realistic the creature is when it walks upright (could have made it easier to detect if it was a hoax or not, making me a tad suspicious).

Also, I find it peculiar that the animal, being a forest creature, would not have heard the man who filmed it; it seemed he was making just enough racket to be detected, causing the animal to at least react enough to be noticeable, or at the most get up and either find out what is nearby or moving off. Sure, the animal did eventually stand up, but I think with the noise the guy was making, it should have done so sooner. Forest animals are always alert for danger, and no how to quickly make a getaway and hide. Deer, even Black bears are skittish (black bear mothers, contrary to popular thought, will, when sensing danger, send their cubs up a tree and run off, until the coast is clear).

Neat video, should be researched more, but it is still just a video, not proof, not fully compelling. Add another batch of undeterminable evidence to the vast sea of good-but-not-conclusive-evidence.

  9. Debra Joseph via Facebook responds:

So, the person conveniently stops pointing the camera at the “thing” just as whatever it is would completely be revealed. They say they got scared and ran but the camera is still on and you can hear their foot falls revealing they did not run very far especially if they believed they were truly in danger. Can you be more suspicious?

  10. red_pill_junkie responds:

It looked like someone wearing a black coat with a hoodie. Just as he rose up so you could see more detail, the cameraman veers away & starts running.

  11. Patricia Rangel Trevino via Facebook responds:

Hell, if I was in the woods by myself and saw something like that there would be no way that I would make any noise or get closer. What if it was a bear, it could catch up and maul you. No one would get close, no one. Hopefully someone will enhance and edit it.

  12. dconstrukt responds:

    1:43 sec.

    watch it.

    there’s a hand.

    its skin color.

unless skunk ape has the skin tone of a white person, well… you tell me.

  13. Martin Kneen via Facebook responds:

Looks very intriguing, either a very good costume or you caught the real thing.

  14. PhotoExpert responds:

    LOL Really? Seriously, really?

OK, let’s say I buy into this video and assume you actually had a Bigfoot encounter. I have to ask a couple of questions.

If this Bigfoot is supposedly building a structure for itself, why in the world would it build one so close to the road? It raises up when it hears a car go by, correct? So you are near a road? And Bigfoot tries to avoid people at all cost as part as it’s elusive behavior, right? So you want me to believe a BF is building a structure right by the road where human contact is a probability? LOL

Next, you are a hunter that is hunting hogs, right? Do you make that much noise normally when hunting? I could not have made more noise if I tried. OK, you counter you were scared, right? Does a hunter or anyone for that matter, try to draw attention to themselves when they are that scared? I think not! But you do and claim to be an experienced hunter. LOL

Lastly, I assume you have some kind of weapon with you, most likely a rifle of some sorts. But instead of firing off a shot in the air, you run for no reason whatsoever. You could have fired a warning shot. You could have just continued filming. But instead, you run away for no apparent reason whatsoever. OK, that makes sense! NOT!

Everything you posted and said goes against common sense and my spidey senses are tingling. Plus, I believe deconstrukt is correct, I did see what I would describe as a hand at the 1:43 mark, give or take a second or two. It looked like the hand belonged to someone of the caucasion persuasion. So if it were a Bigfoot it’s fur or hair would stop at the wrist, correct? LOL

Lastly, you say it is your land and you own it. Yet you proclaim you are never going back? Sure, sure you’re not.

I’m not buying it! But congratulations on your first YouTube post, if it is your first YouTube post. I will have to check that out. If it is, that may or may not be another red flag to add to the pile.

  15. Amadeo Wayne Quilici via Facebook responds:

Hmmm, the shoulder movement is interesting.

  16. cryptokellie responds:

Hoax. More of the same…the camera goes completely erratic when things get interesting.

I think I saw a bare hand drop some debris as well.

    Happy Halloween.

  17. mandors responds:

My biggest problem is how/why a Bigfoot would let this guy get so close in his six. (Not like our hunter has ninja skills.) I didn’t see the flesh colored hand. I thought that it looked like he/it was sort of rifling through some light colored leaves, but people may have better screens than I have. Looked to me like the thing was digging in a large tree trunk. So either looking for grubs, or good blocking on the part of a hoaxer.

  18. DWA responds:

    Ploughboy:

For me, videos go ‘on the pile’ or not based on the answer to one question:

If I’m an investigator, do I go looking for more evidence? Worth the gas? Worth the plane ticket?

    Not to me.

Didn’t have that ring; and shoot, I’m no professional, but there it is.

  19. Ploughboy responds:

No, not worth the airfare DWA, agreed.

Still intriguing to me. It might not be equal to the “Boy on Trampoline” video, but not too far back down the scale.

One thing I will point out that puts this video in a different category is the person’s willingness to put his name on it. A name that doesn’t pull up any google hits, if it is his true name. That and the lack of the de rigeur drama music. Sure, this could be just another Rick Dyer wannabe in the making, and only time will tell you what this guy’s ambitions are, if any.

  20. DWA responds:

And, well, let’s be honest, when I say the pile is compelling for its volume and consistency more than for any one report, would I take report for report and do a comparison with this one for “more compelling”? No.

I’m not sure why he’s running at the point he does. If I’m shooting to that point, I’m not running at that point. OK, I wasn’t there, yadayada.

But I get the feeling if i’m looking at a genuine sasquatch, even one on video, I’m not getting the “meh” this one gives me.

    Gut? Sure. Scientific? No way.

  21. Ulalume responds:

This is one of the most interesting Bigfoot videos I’ve seen in a long time. Several things that stick out to me…

The fur/coat, it doesn’t seem to have that polyester sheen to it, it looks organic and appears as if the hair is thinner in certain places, for example, along the bottom shoulder and even when it stands up on the buttocks.

It’s behavior. In a few of the comments it was suggested that it was building a shelter… to me it looks more likely to be fishing for grubs in the soft wood of the tree. I’ve seen this behavior in other apes and even Les Stroud teaches this behavior.

Several people mentioned you can see a “Caucasian hand”… If you look at the 1:25 mark you can clearly see the creature’s hand, it is a dark color, consistent to that of its body. The “Caucasian hand” mentioned before looks more like a chunk of wood the creature is holding for a moment.

The creature’s movement, when the creature rips the bark from the tree you can see the bulk, you can tell there is some serious power behind it. The way the muscle recoils when it yanks the bark free looks natural and convincing, that’s typically something you don’t see with a baggy suit.

The noise… anyone that’s ever used a cell phone camera knows that sound… it’s the videographer’s fingers rubbing along the phone, it sounds loud to the viewer because the camera’s mic is right next to his fingers but it is highly unlikely that anyone would be able to detect that rubbing sound unamplified. In addition it didn’t look like he shifted his feet in any way, the camera movement went up and down (I assume from him crouching and standing back up) but did not seem to do much going side to side which leads me to believe he kept his feet planted, which is exactly what an experienced hunter would do in that situation, you wont make noise if you don’t move your feet.

Lastly, the end of the video… Yes, it is frustrating that he ran but put yourself in his shoes, he is already off put by what he is filming… when the creature stands and he can see that actual size of it he runs… I’d be the first to admit that I’d probably take off in the opposite direction at the exact same moment. It’s easy to sit behind your computer and say “I’d film it until is beat me to death with my own arms” but when you are out there… things play out a little different, that fight or flight reflex kicks in.

Am I saying it’s real? Not exactly but I am saying that most of the comments I’m seeing are dismissing some interesting and convincing evidence. I’d love to see an enhanced version of this footage and hear others opinions on my observations.

  22. springheeledjack responds:

Hapa hit the nail…for as much noise as he was making while filming (I’ll even give you that since he was close to his camera phone he’s closer to the sound device, but he was still making plenty), I seriously doubt said “creature” didn’t hear him, unless it was deaf…which opens up a whole other set of problems.

I understand he was being “dead quiet”, but if so, then his definition and mine are two different things. And if there was a road that close by, I think it would be safe to conclude that a Bigfoot would be a lot more alert to traffic and intrusion than this “creature” seemed to be.

There you go hoaxers…add this to the list of things you have to do differently in order to create a “legitimate” video of Sasquatch.

The sad thing is, I’m not sure I’d buy in to a legitimate video unless:

    1) The camera person got good, zoomed in footage

    2) that passed the Halloween costume test

    3) AND gave us a decent look at his body, gait, etc.

    4) AND said camera person followed up with details of place, time, date, and so on.

    5) AND was able to corroborate it with some kind of secondary evidence–hair, tracks, etc.

In the end, I think I’m at a stalemate with encounters, vids, pictures and secondary evidence. It stacks onto the pile, but it’s only good for the next stage which is solid physical evidence. For the scoftics, they’re snickering because they “know” I’ll never see it. It’s time to use all of this secondary evidence to track one down and get the captive or carcass to put it to rest.

  23. xzorter responds:

Ulalume addresses every single point like I would, with in my opinion logic and critical thinking. and any tough guy who say’s he would “hand around” and just film, are usually the “big talkers” but in combat situations, Sh*t the their pants and freeze ! Now That,Ive seen too many times, but sigh, they don’t end up living long.

  24. Goodfoot responds:

“And for the category, “Best Fake Bigfoot Video of a Deaf Skunk Ape”, the winner is…. the figure seems knee-deep in swamp water. More trouble than is generally gone to, anyway…

  25. sasquatch responds:

At 1:58 looks like you can see buttocks…Something you never see in Bigfoot costumes…but is in the PG footage.

The yanking motions were very gorilla like.

I also get the impression this thing is pulling bark away to get at bugs in the stump/tree trunk.

Color is also very much like Patty.

But, too far away to say definitely real.

  26. dconstrukt responds:

    ROFLMAO!

    SKIN + HAND = person.

    1:43 sec.

    GAME OVER.

    does bigfoot have tan skin?

    I mean, really people.

use the damn brain you were given.

its a crying shame you aren’t.

you want to believe so bad, you “overlook” common sense.

  27. DWA responds:

    Ulalume:

Well, none of us can say you are wrong that’s for sure.

I could agree with you that what the figure is doing…well, somebody knew something about animals to have his “bigfoot model” do something of the sort they are observed doing, along with niche partitioners like bears, rather than just aimlessly walking around convincing us they couldn’t avoid a Cub Scout troop.

I have gone on many times here about “red flags” and “fake markers” that aren’t. What you see after the animal rises is plausible for somebody who did what the witness says he did.

I don’t know, and didn’t mean to sound like a hip-shoot scoftic in my first post. But unless there’s other evidence at the site…well, what kind of follow-up would you do?

I’d suggest this guy consider that. He could even come here to ask, and tell folks more about what’s going on.

It’s inappropriate to look at video or photos as “proof or not?” What they are, is LEADS.

  28. Ulalume responds:

I just want to repeat, I’m not saying this is a video of a sasquatch… It’s going to take much more than a video to say that. However, there is some evidence in the video that leads me to believe this is actually a non-human animal.

    Two rebuttals…

I still don’t see the hand, the figure shows his hand several times throughout the video, in every scene but one it is a uniform color. Am I to believe he took his glove off halfway through the video and put it back on? I don’t get see it.

and the sounds, with the exception of a bit of leave rustling in the first second or two I don’t hear the photographer make a sound, his finger rubs the camera/phone a lot but that’s not really detectable by the naked ear, that’s something that only shows up because of the microphone.

Of course we will never know what’s actually shown in the video but this is one of the more intriguing ones that I’ve seen over the years.

  29. Becho responds:

I believe it is grubbing. The reason why it didn’t hear this person move up on it’s six might be because it wasn’t there yet and moved in while the hunter was sitting at the base of a tree.

Again, the comments make me laugh very hard. Do you know what you would do in that situation? You don’t.

Do you know how Bigfoot would react in that situation? No you don’t. Especially if you don’t believe in Bigfoot.

I’ve decided this site is better than the comedy channel. LOL

  30. hilbily responds:

Come on! u can not be from ms originally ? Any of my hunting buddys my two teenage boys or myself would have not ran from it , we would have went toward it, maybe a once in a lifetime encounter an u ran! Come on dude!!

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
