New Oregon Bigfooter

Autumn Williams, who Loren gave a Cryptomundo Salute of the Day to last May, gave birth last Monday.

If you saw Sci Fi Investigates Bigfoot, you were probably aware of the fact that she was pregnant.

Autumn Williams shared the following with me by email and gave permission for me to share it with the readers of Cryptomundo.

What a painful and amazing week. emoticon

Labor progressed rapidly from about 4 p.m. on Monday. After an excrutiating epidural insertion (which was more painful than the contractions), the pushing started around 10:45 and Rowan was born at 11:50 p.m. I was loopy and laughing through the whole thing, cracking myself and everybody else up, including the rather stone-faced doctor who stood in for Dr. Cooper during delivery… all thanks to the epidural and WAY too much adrenaline.

Rowan was three weeks early and is tiny and beautiful. The doc says she’s healthy and perfect in every way, which is a blessing. I can’t stop staring at her little face. She’s a Skye-Autumn hybrid… I can’t tell which parts of her look like Skye and which parts look like me, but I see both of us in her.

She’s very happy and content, crying only when she’s hungry or her diaper needs changing… which sometimes seems like it’s CONSTANTLY. I’m really enjoying this Mom thing, but it sure doesn’t leave time for much else… like eating, or sleeping, or working…

Mom stayed with us for the first couple of days after we got home from the hospital on Wednesday to help with the "crisis" time. THANK YOU, MOM. I don’t know what we would have done without her. Labor is like running the Boston Marathon after 9 months of sitting on your butt and I’m still feeling the after effects, but I’m slowly getting into a routine.

Skye has been WONDERFUL. He’s spent all weekend helping to clean and organize the house, running errands and feeding and changing Rowan. I want to cry when I see him holding her, so proud and beaming, his enormous hands carefully wiping her itty bitty face. He’s an amazing dad, just like I knew he would be.

Sleep? What’s that? emoticon She sleeps a lot during the day, waking for a little while for a feeding and changing… for some reason, she’s busiest at night, but finally settles down around 5 a.m. when I lay down on the couch and hold her in my arms. Then we BOTH get to sleep for three hours or so…

Rowan’s birth annoucement and her first photo are online here. emoticon

Best,

Autumn (and Skye and Rowan)

Here’s a hearty crypto-congratulations to Autumn, Skye and Rowan.

And if you haven’t already ordered Autumn’s Oregon Bigfoot Documentary, now would be a good time to do so. Just be patient on waiting for delivery. Autumn’s a little busy these days…
