Tim the Yowie Man Apologizes to Canada

Dear all

The story about quatchi (which included some quotes from me) as it appeared on the wires (and susequently published on this website) may have been taken a little out of context.

Please let me say up front that I am thrilled to bits that a cryptid is an official Olympic mascot as it raises awareness of sasquatch and other cryptids.

Please also let me unreservedly apologise to anyone, especially any Canadians who were upset by the story. I have visited Canada on many occasions and find its people and in particular it’s cryptid research community the friendliest and most helpful in the world.

All I was intending with my quotes in the story was to express my surprise that quatchi was chosen as a mascot because when I think of winter sports -I think of leaner more agile athletes (and hence mascots). Maybe its just because us Aussies know so little about the winter Olympics given we have so little snow here, but again apologies if my comments were taken out of context.

Now, where can I buy a quatchi toy?

RegardsTim the Yowie Man

  1. dabode responds:

We forgive ya Tim cuz us Canucks really are for the most part friendly and helpful and we share a common homeland after all, (some of us anyway, but we heartily welcome everyone). Nothing really said to get that upset over. Caddy, Ogo, Manipogo and others are a little miffed tho’ as they weren’t chosen, even by the aquatics people. Next time…

  2. cryptidsrus responds:

    No big deal, Tim. :)

  3. sluggo responds:

I’m a Canuck and I wasn’t even even remotely offended.

Like to think we have a little bit thicker skin than that.

  4. AlbertaSasquatch responds:

No problem Tim, as stated above, we are much thicker skinned than that……but don’t make us mad, eh!
