Orang Pendek Captured on Camera?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 28th, 2017

Is this a member of Indonesia’s lost pygmy tribe? Mysterious small figure is caught on camera scurrying out of the undergrowth in remote area of northern Sumatra

The person was spotted in Banda Aceh, on the northern tip of Sumatra
He appeared to be half-naked and ran down a dirt track carrying a large stick
After a group of bikers chased him, the man dived into bushes and disappeared

In 2003, archaeologists found evidence of an ancient race of small ‘hobbit-like’ humans on the island of Flores, on the other side of the archipelago.

Homo floresiensis are believed to have been around 3-and-a-half feet tall and lived around 50,000 years ago.

Fossils of the ‘Flores hobbit’ showed that the early people had small brains and no chin.

  1. DWA responds:

Got to say, if that is a fake video they may be the only people I’ve ever seen who know how to make one.

  2. cryptokellie responds:

Okay. Size the picture up and slow the video down and look closely at the running figure. That is a naked person with his lighter, sun-shaded buttocks in full view. Look closely, this person seems to wear a mask or some sort of head gear too. Orang Pendek is supposed to be covered in dense brown fur or hair, not bare-skinned. The person also runs at full tilt for a modern proportioned, upright human being. He also is carrying a stick which he feels is very important to his well being or else he would have dropped it in order flee faster. I think a more primitive primate such as Orang Pendek would simply flee and not worry about a stick. A real video of a tribesman perhaps, but not of Orang Pendek.

  3. springheeledjack responds:

I looked at the vid several times and it looks like something running in from the right–possibly causing the one biker to swerve and fall over. Kept trying to see if it just appeared (as in added in).

  4. mandors responds:

Interesting. If you translate the title, it doesn’t purport to show orang pandek, it says orang telanjang which translates to “naked” people. Orang pandek rather is “short.” While both are short, but I agree with cryptokellie, it’s human/humanoid. It does seem to have a long spear like stick and bad tan lines.

One thing that is troublesome is the “FredOgraphy” label. It’s not something posted by a group of Indonesians; the professional posting gives me pause.

  5. cryptokellie responds:

It’s a “Naked People” that’s for sure…lol. I also have a feeling that some post production is occurring with this video. Something about the naked figure’s movement is not quite right.

  6. Goodfoot responds:

Good one, cryptokellie. Right on the money.

That naked guy sure can scoot, though.

  7. G. de La Hoya responds:

Makes sense that a remote being waits until the dirt bikes are upon him to run.

  8. Goodfoot responds:

Maybe that’s what passes for entertainment there.

  9. mystery_man responds:

I concur, DWA. Long time, no see. Wow I’ve been gone awhile, haven’t I?

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
