The Real Story of OurBigfoot.com?

Well, the suspense is over. Listening to the archive of Tom Biscardi’s internet radio show from 11/02/06. We learn the real story of the website, OurBigfoot.com. Mr. LC Duplain, Duplatt…whatever his name is, was a guest on Tom’s show to tell of his plight. How he was wrongly accused of posting hoaxed Bigfoot videos and "borrowed" photos of footprint casts.

Tom wanted to share Mr. Duplain’s plight with his listeners. How we here at Cryptomundo are the bad guys. Following is a rough transcript of this segment of the show.

Mr. Duplain wanted to do this summer project with his kids. Being a fan of the Geico caveman commercials, he thought of doing something similar, but with Bigfoot.

He started posting information on a website called ourbigfoot. He ran out of time to complete it, with so much going on. What happened then, Cryptomundo got a hold of it and he started getting some hate email and nasty comments. (Tom laughing with LC, not at him, because he used to get some of that same hate mail) LC wasn’t laughing, he’ll tell you. He was not trying to fool the bigfoot community, he was just trying to put a funny website out there. After some of the nasty comments like, "would love to shoot us if they saw us" and that kind of thing, he just froze, he didn’t know what to do.

After the first two posts regarding the OurBigfoot.com website, I emailed the following message to the contact email address for the website:

Requesting information regarding your website, OurBigfoot.com. Can you give any additional info other than what is listed on the website?

Thanks, Cryptomundo

This is the reply I received:

Thanks for writing. More information is planned and will be released on the website this year.

Mr. Duplain could had ‘fessed up at that time that this website was just a family project with his kids. But apparently, he wanted this ruse to go on longer. So we posted additional information about the footprint cast photos that were on the site. Shortly after this, all of the photos of the footprint casts were pulled from the site.

Tom wants to let his listeners know, what you just heard from him is so true. That some of this hate mail gets so severe, they send death threats to you, or you and your family. He knows, he’s received these things himself in the past. "And I’ve gotta tell you guys out there, you jerks, you morons, you people that go around doing things like this. You’ve got to look at yourself in the mirror in the morning. If I was you, I’d readdress your situation on where you are in life. Find out what’s going on before you’re so easy to send those poison pen letters out. I’m sorry LC, it get’s my goat when I hear these stories, then you get to know the real story, about that hate mail and stuff. I’m just, I’m not with that."

LC: So we were frozen. I really appreciate you standing up for me. A couple of months went by, and we were still frozen, should we even mess with this site anymore. We just underestimated what would happen. And then you called, and were professional and nice. This was fantastic, maybe I can get some help, and tell the story.

Tom: Myself and my team, searching for bigfoot, we’re behind you 100%, anything that we can do to help you, assist you in any way, to get the word out to what you really tried to do, instead of what these other people purport what they thought you were trying to do. And that’s when the people jump the gun.

So there you have it, it was just a fun family project that went awry. No harm, no foul…All in the name of good, clean fun. All it took was Tom Biscardi to set us straight.

I guess I’ll have to avoid that mirror in the morning…
