The Real Story of OurBigfoot.com?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on November 7th, 2006

Well, the suspense is over. Listening to the archive of Tom Biscardi’s internet radio show from 11/02/06. We learn the real story of the website, OurBigfoot.com. Mr. LC Duplain, Duplatt…whatever his name is, was a guest on Tom’s show to tell of his plight. How he was wrongly accused of posting hoaxed Bigfoot videos and "borrowed" photos of footprint casts.

For a full recap off all that has transpired here on Cryptomundo concerning OurBigfoot.com, click here.

Tom wanted to share Mr. Duplain’s plight with his listeners. How we here at Cryptomundo are the bad guys. Following is a rough transcript of this segment of the show.

Mr. Duplain wanted to do this summer project with his kids. Being a fan of the Geico caveman commercials, he thought of doing something similar, but with Bigfoot.

He started posting information on a website called ourbigfoot. He ran out of time to complete it, with so much going on. What happened then, Cryptomundo got a hold of it and he started getting some hate email and nasty comments. (Tom laughing with LC, not at him, because he used to get some of that same hate mail) LC wasn’t laughing, he’ll tell you. He was not trying to fool the bigfoot community, he was just trying to put a funny website out there. After some of the nasty comments like, "would love to shoot us if they saw us" and that kind of thing, he just froze, he didn’t know what to do.

After the first two posts regarding the OurBigfoot.com website, I emailed the following message to the contact email address for the website:

Requesting information regarding your website, OurBigfoot.com. Can you give any additional info other than what is listed on the website?

Thanks, Cryptomundo

This is the reply I received:

Thanks for writing. More information is planned and will be released on the website this year.

Mr. Duplain could had ‘fessed up at that time that this website was just a family project with his kids. But apparently, he wanted this ruse to go on longer. So we posted additional information about the footprint cast photos that were on the site. Shortly after this, all of the photos of the footprint casts were pulled from the site.

Tom wants to let his listeners know, what you just heard from him is so true. That some of this hate mail gets so severe, they send death threats to you, or you and your family. He knows, he’s received these things himself in the past. "And I’ve gotta tell you guys out there, you jerks, you morons, you people that go around doing things like this. You’ve got to look at yourself in the mirror in the morning. If I was you, I’d readdress your situation on where you are in life. Find out what’s going on before you’re so easy to send those poison pen letters out. I’m sorry LC, it get’s my goat when I hear these stories, then you get to know the real story, about that hate mail and stuff. I’m just, I’m not with that."

LC: So we were frozen. I really appreciate you standing up for me. A couple of months went by, and we were still frozen, should we even mess with this site anymore. We just underestimated what would happen. And then you called, and were professional and nice. This was fantastic, maybe I can get some help, and tell the story.

Tom: Myself and my team, searching for bigfoot, we’re behind you 100%, anything that we can do to help you, assist you in any way, to get the word out to what you really tried to do, instead of what these other people purport what they thought you were trying to do. And that’s when the people jump the gun.

So there you have it, it was just a fun family project that went awry. No harm, no foul…All in the name of good, clean fun. All it took was Tom Biscardi to set us straight.

I guess I’ll have to avoid that mirror in the morning…

I know for a fact that Biscardi has bad mouthed Cryptomundo to people making encounter claims. So this whole show could have been nothing more than an attempt to slam this site.

  2. Loren Coleman responds:

Nothing like having the kettle call the rest of the world black!

  3. myseryoak responds:

It’s nice that these two “homies” bonded. Sounds like the making of an infomercial. But, what are they selling?

  4. iftheshoefits responds:

They’re selling bull and get mad when no one buys it.

  5. arbigfootfinder responds:

All of these hoaxes, etc., are really bringing back memories for me: “Strawberry Fields, Nothing is real”… I am starting to wonder if I am not wasting gas, time, money, and self-pride searching the Ouachita National Forest for these creatures? I am beginning to wonder if I really did hear two sasquatches communicating last year in Mt. Nebo State Park or if I was just having flashbacks from a not so healthy lifestyle in the 70’s?! Or if my ex-wife, her daughter, and myself actually heard a Bigfoot screaming at us while we were camping in northern Michigan in 1984, or if I just imagined that whole 8 year relationship altogether! What did they really do to me at the VA when I was discharged in 1979? Is anyone else getting discouraged from the purported sightings, photos, and other evidence that just turns out to be a lot of BS? I want (like so many others) to be able to believe that there are Bigfoot creatures out there among us, but have we gone that far in the last 100 years? I mean a hundred years ago, they had eyewitness encounters, not much of anything else. A hundred years later, we have eyewitness encounters, one good video, and not much of anything else.
    Whats next?

  6. kittenz responds:

Ten pounds of manure in a five-pound bag.

  7. One Eyed Cat responds:

I thought ‘Monkey see, Monkey do.’
and I do not mean BF by monkey.

Hey being nice, this sounds like two two-year-olds screaming because nobody’s playing their game.

  8. Raptorial responds:

I’m with Loren, this really is a case of the old saying “the pot calling the kettle black”.

  9. cor2879 responds:

I’m no fan of Biscardi or hoaxers in general… but come on people, death threats? I don’t know who sends that stuff but it’s uncalled for and makes all of us look bad. Maybe the claims of death threats are just that – bogus claims. I’d like to think the readership here is above that.

  10. Mnynames responds:

I’d like to think the Cryptomundo clan is above death threats too, but I’m sure one or another of us have sent some strongly worded notes of disapproval from time to time. The problem with even moralistic or, shall we say, kharmic, threats is that they can still be reinterpreted as actual threats. Get a lot of them and heap them up into one big pile and it can look pretty deadly to the person who has to deal with them (Especially if he’s feeling a little guilty or is just plain paranoid to begin with). These guys will get what they deserve, one way or another, so I really don’t think that there’s any need in telling them so. They won’t get it anyway, and will just serve as more fuel for their pathetic little fires (By which I mean they’re just blowing smoke).

  11. thegoblinking responds:

I can say this with all my heart, I will never trust Tom Biscardi again. I will never got to his website. And I hope he will leave bigfoot investigating to REAL scientists. He is a bad knock off of P.T. Barnum. At least Barnum had showmanship. Biscardi should hook up with a certain lady in Tennessee.

  12. mystery_man responds:

Wow. It is really interesting that a site that supposedly was made for family entertainment spun so out of control. I know a lot of people were upset but I didn’t know about the death threats. It just goes to show how these things can quickly spiral and careen out of control no matter what one’s intentions are. I think it is imperative these days when posting anything on the net to clearly state what it is and disclaim it if neccesary, because once it is in the realm of public access, there’s no telling who will jump all over it. That being said, Tom Biscardi’s involvement and comments sends a red flag up.

  13. joppa responds:

I’m not drinking that kool-aid. Those folks could have taken that site down way before they caused the stir they did. They enjoyed every minute of their internet fame.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
