Search for Bigfoot with The Falcon Project

The History Channel investigates the new ways people are searching for Bigfoot, including the high-tech methods used by The Falcon Project.

Sure! The game cam thing worked so well, well, why not?
Then there’s the Ape Thing. I respect Dr. Meldrum; I think he’s highly capable in his field of work. I even find him likeable.
But this “North American Ape” jazz is perplexing in the extreme. Apes do not exist in the New World, and unless Dr. Meldrum is withholding vital information, they are not known to ever have.
And it has always puzzled me why Meldrum can say “New World Apes” when there are no known ape species in the New World. Seems like a lot mental gyrations to me to avoid concluding Bigfoot is a human species or subspecies.
call me crazy… but here’s an idea…. was watching one of the bigfoot shows the other day and thought of this…
we assume the PG film as “the holy grail” right? like …thats the best legit video we know of (and its even a question of if its legit), but lets say yes, because thats the best we’ve got.

if you did some math calculations of the stride, distance and time… it should give you a math formula you can use to estimate distance traveled over a period of time.
So for example.
if someone reports a sighting today.
you can use that formula to estimate the radius of where the bigfoot MIGHT be located.
since we know how far it can travel based on studying the pg film.
in theory, it should lie within that radius…. would possibly narrow down the area to search considerably.
am i out of my mind?
has this been done before?
thoughts?
Considering a search area around a recent sighting, it would likely be a sizable area.
When I did a lot of backpacking, I figured my average speed on non-level terrain with a 50-60lb pack was 3 to 3.25 mph. I would guess that someone with a longer stride and bit more muscle could achieve a higher walking speed, lets go with 4 mph. Assume the person only walked for 8 hours that day, the radius would be 32 miles. The area then would be A=pi*r^2 or about 3,200 sq mi. If walking for 10 hours, it would be just over 5,000 sq mi, and if walking for 12 hours, 7,200 sq mi.
How long would it take to search 3,200 sq mi or more?
