Speaking of Bobo…

bbb

Animal Planet’s hit show Finding Bigfoot investigates compelling evidence that may prove the existence of the elusive creature. The four intrepid investigators—Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James “Bobo” Fay and Cliff Barackman, and skeptical field biologist Ranae Holland—continue their dauntless search in North America and beyond to explore the Sasquatch phenomenon. Sightings have occurred in every state except Hawaii, prompting the team to leave no piece of credible evidence unexplored as they scrutinize fascinating new finds in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Oklahoma, Texas, Vermont, Washington, and even Australia, where the creatures are known as “yowies,” Indonesia where they’re called “orang-pendek,” and Nepal for the legendary yeti. Examining photos and video, speaking to local eye witnesses, using advanced technology, and luring the mysterious beast with tasty treats and the team’s signature calls, the group uncovers startling signs of the enduring enigma.

Bobo begins the story by tracing his own journey before tracking back to Irwin Supple, a mid-twentieth century witness, and giving a brief history of early American encounters along with the science so far: from DNA and primate forensics to state-of-the-art audio and imaging technologies. Behind-the-scenes stories about the show (including Monkey) reveal how the team got there and where they’re going. Bobo explains what you can do to become an effective squatcher—including no-tech wilderness camping, infrared and thermal imaging, casting, and scenting—all while promoting wilderness preservation, team work, personal safety, and respect for private property.

Maybe you’ve had your own encounter and need assurance that you haven’t lost your mind. Perhaps you heard about a sighting in your neck of the woods, caught the squatching itch, and want to learn the secrets of the search. Whether you’re a skeptic or a believer, this richly illustrated investigation will challenge everything you thought you knew about the mysteries of the Sasquatch.

About the Author

James “Bobo” Fay was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California, and has had a keen interest in the Bigfoot mystery for as long as he can remember. In college, he spent his downtime in the woods attempting to locate a Bigfoot. Afterward, he took logging jobs on Native American crews to absorb their knowledge of the Sasquatch legend. He saw his first squatch with veteran researcher John Freitas in 2001. He has appeared on Mysterious Encounters, the Travel Channel, History Channel, and Nat Geo. A field researcher (no longer) with the Bigfoot Field Research Organization, he makes a living as a commercial fisherman out of Eureka, California, and continues the search.
