Update: New York Bigfoot Photos

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on July 18th, 2006

Below is the size comparison photo that Tom Biscardi and company produced while they were onsite with Hans Mobius in Clarence, NY.

Mobius Size Comparison

Looking at the inset photo, it is obvious that the angle from which that photo was taken was from a lower angle, causing the person to appear shorter than the tractor. The "Bigfoot" looks to be standing on a higher plane of elevation. If you are going to do an honest size comparison, why not take the photo from the same location, with the tractor also in the same location? I guess that was rhetorical question…

The following statement is taken from Biscardi’s website concerning the above photo. They are estimating the "creature" to be seven to eight feet tall.

I have inserted a picture of Tim McMillen , standing about two feet away from the tractor, into the picture of the “creature”. We believe the creature was also right next to the tractor at the time. Tim is 5’8” tall. As you can see, the “creature is substantially larger then Tim. From this comparison, we can estimate the height of the “creature” at between seven to eight feet tall!!!!!

There is a slight problen with that equation though. There is someone claiming to have sold Mr. Mobius a gorilla costume.

Here is a link to a video from news station that interviewed Hans Mobius. They also found a costume store manager who claimed that he sold a gorilla costume to Mr. Mobius.

    Good morning Craig….

I look more squatchy than those photos especially early in the morning….grumpier too…LOL

How are those museum donations going?

    seeing is believing….

    ole bub and the dawgs

  2. Harpo responds:

If he’s only standing two feet away, he is indeed a tiny little hobbit of a man who drives a great big giant-size tractor. Could happen, I guess…

  3. paperdragon responds:

There is no way that McMillan is standing 2 feet away from the vehicle. More like 5 to 10.

  4. timi_hendrix responds:

The “creature” was behind the cart so he could have been standing on something or wearing something on his feet to make him taller. There are no pictures of “it” running off so it’s possible.

  5. smylex responds:

    sounds pretty fake to me.

  6. One Eyed Cat responds:

The more that comes out about this the more suspicious I get. Looks more like a whole lot of wishful thinking to me

  7. Jeremy_Wells responds:

yeah, I remember seeing that footage of the costume when you were posting all the Arizona/Biscardi bunk…

As for anyone silly enough to be taken in by TB I think the great Bugs Bunny said it best. “What a maroon!”

  8. DWA responds:

Wow. Somebody be sufferin’ from TB here. Big time.

If I’m a scientist seeing this crap…well, I can understand the thinking. Coelacanths, fine. But I gotta see one of these in a zoo first, and I’ll look for that zipper even then.

  9. Illuvatar responds:

He says he happened to be taking pictures of trees on his farm. Is it normal for people to be taking pictures of trees in their horse farms? It’s like if I were taking pictures of weeds in my backyard. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe people do take pictures of their farms regularly if so someone please correct me. Anyhow it is suspiscious for someone to conviently have a camera with them when a bigfoot comes along. Also the fact of the costume seems very suspiscious.

Didn’t someone mention in a previous post that Mobius wasn’t a popular figure in his community and that people liked to play pranks on him.

The thing in question looks like it either has really long legs or it is on an elevation. The man in the picture could simply be bending his knees to make him look shorter. Does anyone work with the same model of cart shown in the picture? Maybe they could tell us how tall this type of cart is.

The whole thing smells like a fake to me but who knows?

  10. MOSUGOJI responds:

Hi, new poster here. I’m in NY state about 150 miles or so west of where the ape suit made it’s debut. Granted there are alot of areas in NY that something like bigfoot could dwell. I’ve made some bigfoot suits myself for a friend who is an indie film maker. If there’s a way to post pics here I’ll post a picture of one of the suits in case it turns up in a sighting someday. I did make one suit for a guy down south who was supposedly making his own low budget monster flick but didn’t really elaborate on it much. Who knows? Maybe he wanted it to do a skunk ape hoax.

  11. Jeremy_Wells responds:

Can you post the suit pics for him Craig?
Pretty please with sugar on top?

  12. Kent Ballard responds:

Could someone pass me a pair of protective boots, please?

  13. shumway10973 responds:

those pics are looking like the same New York ones with the “dancing big foot”. When will they learn that the dark, furry costumes don’t quite look right. Besides that person in the suit is trying to walk funny on purpose, you can see it.

  14. Xeno2814 responds:

Umm…Shumway? That *IS* one of the photos from the ‘Dancing Bigfoot’ bit. The inset is one the investigator took to ‘compare’ the height of a regular person to the unknown thing in the photo.

That being said, the farmer couldn’t take the investigators back to the exact (hell, even within a hundred feet…) of where he saw the critter for the comparison photo? And if you look closely, you can see that the tractor in the original photo has it’s wheels tilted down, indicating a gentle slope to me. The ‘Bigfoot’ could easily have been standing on the higher part of the slope with no difficulty…

  15. Xeno2814 responds:

Oh, and the 5’8 investigator? CLEARLY not two or three feet away as they claim. I mean, come on. My one female friend is like, 5 foot even, and she’s not that small next to a tractor…

  16. twblack responds:

Oh my and to think how much we have all missed Mr. B. YEAH RIGHT he should take the funding he is getting and give it to some real BF search group.

  17. Dudlow responds:

Oh, please… you woke me up for this? An astoundingly inept hoax. All persons involved with it ought to be run out of town on a rail.
    Dudlow

  18. Mr Tito responds:

The vehicle in the photo is a John Deere Gator TH 6×4. Height with the stock suspension, as this one appears to has is 43.6 in. to the top of the seat-backs. The top is another 24 in. (+ or – an inch or so) Overall length is 108.4 in from bumper to bumper. At that scale the “investigator” is about 3.5 to 4 ft tall if he is 2 feet away. He is a good 20 feet behind the vehicle and slightly uphill. Check the John Deere website for pictures of these vehicles with an average size man at the wheel, you’ll see what I’m talking about.

  19. Ole Bub responds:

    Good evening Sasquatch folks…

The really sad part…these hoaxes and psuedo research….are receiving the funding…while the folks humping it on their own ticket…get nada….

I’ll say it again….support your favorite researcher or group….sasquatch is not the only endangered species…JMHO

    TBRC….send me a membership application…where should I mail this cash…

Capture protocol, rapid response…toll free hotline….hands on scientific research….adequate video equipment…if you can’t be in the field…consider being part of the solution…JMHO

    seeing is believing….

    ole bub and the dawgs

  20. Robsquatch responds:

Looks like the Bigfoot that was featured in the Bionic Woman back in the 70’s. Short arms, loose fury suit, huge Bob Ross looking afro and beard. Just Bigfoot out painting a ‘happy little tree’.

  21. LordofShades responds:

Good thing this wasn’t in a magazine, it’d be a waste of paper. We should all know by now if Biscardi is involved, it barely warrants mention, not an article. There should be another section to this site, one dedicated to the obvious hoaxes and questionable sources.

  22. patrice56 responds:

I am not a scientist, but I am not an idiot, either.

Hasn’t anyone noticed that there is no shading/shadow on the alleged Big Foot?

It looks like a big black image that was either removed from the photo, leaving a hole…or taken from a different photo and inserted…a silhouette of sorts.

And the guy next to the tractor? Yeah, right, 2 feet away…like someone already said, more like 10 feet away.

But, seriously, look closely at the Big Foot figure and see if there are any shadings or shadows…I have tried and tried and still see only the black form.

  23. Benjamin Radford responds:

I’ve been to the site, and there is a two or three foot berm right where the Bigfoot was photographed. Unless the man in the “comparison” photo is on that same berm, any measurement is worthless.

  24. sausage1 responds:

You see, this is why cryptozology is so fascinating! All the time we are looking for sasquatch and what we are overlooking is that when Mr McMillen is a real life homo floriensis.

Is he available for parties and bar-mitzvahs?

  25. Miseryoak responds:

I would like to be the first (of many) to claim to have been in the suit…..

  26. sschaper responds:

That is a John Deere Gator (?) and is about the height of a golf cart, a bit smaller than a WWII Willys Jeep

  27. iftheshoefits responds:

Your right sausage1. I looked at this earlier today and I didn’t notice. It’s amazing what can hide in plain sight. Boy, cryptomundo is on top of all the great stuff.

  28. Dark-Obsessor responds:

I’m new here and found this website on my forum. I must say, those photos are rather iffy. FIrst of all, as many have previously said, the tractor is in two different places and at different elevations. Secondly, the bit about the costume is rather suspicious. I doubt it actually happened. Plus, when he’s saying how ‘he has nothing to gain’- Umm…Publicity and attention?! He’s on TV! Plus, you can tell he knows SOMETHING is up… He’s smiling.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
