From Press Release:

The October People are proud to announce their next feature film, Valley of the Sasquatch.

Valley of the Sasquatch is a creature feature which follows a fractured family who battle for survival against a tribe of territorial Sasquatch in the remote wilds of the Pacific Northwest.

“I’m an avid watcher of Bigfoot films, but even the best in the subgenre tend to treat the creature as a bloodthirsty monster,” says writer/director John Portanova. “With Valley of the Sasquatch I want to tell a scary and action-packed story that respects the long and fascinating history of Bigfoot.”

The October People hit the film scene this year with their first feature, The Invoking (formerly Sader Ridge), a suspenseful psychological horror film that Fangoria called, “a slow, scary, ambiguous descent into the darkest part of the human psyche.” After touring the festival circuit, racking up numerous accolades and impressing film critics from all over the world, The Invoking was picked up for worldwide distribution by Ruthless Pictures.

“The October People have shown they can deliver suspenseful, slow-burn horror,” says producer Jeremy Berg, who also directed The Invoking. “With Valley of the Sasquatch, we want to replicate the unsettling atmosphere of our previous work and marry it to the modern horror traditions of intense action and gore.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to tell this story at this time,” says producer Matt Medisch, the third and final member of The October People. “Going around to all the festivals this year, speaking with lovers of the horror genre and fans of our first film, we’ve been able to see that the demand for a great Sasquatch film is at its peak. With the talented group of people we’ve gathered so far, and the excellent storytelling contained in the script, we aim to fully deliver on that demand.”

Valley of the Sasquatch is currently in the midst of pre-production. Production will begin in 2014.
