I really enjoy the show – but, all of their “video” looks animated… I think on almost every episode – it looks fake.

  2. Raven Storm via Facebook responds:

I’m going with Black Bear. Since they can get up to 700 lbs and 7 feet, are solitary & run up to 30 mph. That video says nothing to me except mistaken identity.

  3. Doug Kalemba via Facebook responds:

    no. no, it wasn’t.

Question; Was the West Virginia Werewolf caught on camera?
    Answer; No.
Although entertaining in a “Three (or four or five) Stooges Meet the Monsters” sort of way, this show is a total sham – start to finish with no credibility whatsoever. While packing some impressive firepower, the hillbilly group is incapable of achieving anything. Not surprising since the cryptids they are hunting for do not exist for the most part.

  5. NMRNG responds:

I saw one, maybe two black bears pawing at a stump for either grubs or some rodent whose den is under the stump.

I watched a few minutes of that show this week. I don’t think any two of those clowns could scrape up enough intellect get to a combined triple digit IQ. One of them will surely end up accidentally shooting the other one.

  6. darkhb responds:

There is no way those guns that they brandish are actually loaded. Notice how many times the camera IS IN FRONT of them looking back at the muzzles of those weapons. If they were loaded do you think a cameraman would be standing directly in front of these clowns? Also, check the shotgun that “Wild Bill” is carrying; a double-barrel with hammers that cannot be fired unless those hammers are cocked (pulled back) – they never are even though his finger is on the trigger.

  7. cryptokellie responds:

darkhb is right on the money. If those guns were loaded, the fat guy who can’t walk straight and keeps falling down would have blown his foot off, or someone else’s, by now.

The real question is; why are we paying any attention to this inane show which at times resembles a Monty Python routine? Maybe they can capture Dinsdale the hedgehog. Maybe Honey Boo Boo and her incoherent Mom will guest star and lure a monster out of the woods.

    On second thought…

  8. Goodfoot responds:

There seems to be movement there, and I don’t think it’s black bears (or bear). Sorry, they don’t get that big, and certainly not in WV.
I certainly can’t say what it is.

And yeah, the guns are probably not loaded. They’re just props the silly producer insisted upon. I’d carry one too, out there. I don’t camp without one.

  9. urking responds:

Black Bear my a$$ … stop drinking the ‘shine

  10. bl00p responds:

Since the general feeling about this show is that it’s all a big put on, I kind of wonder why it gets so much coverage here. From what I’ve seen it has about the same validity as the “Bigfoot” episodes of the Six Million Dollar Man and should be accorded similar treatment.

  11. cryptokellie responds:

Oh yeah, the hedgehog in the Monty Python skits name was Spiny Norman. Dinsdale Piranha was the man who saw him.

  12. darkhb responds:

One of the great Monty Python skits cryptokellie!! The Piranha Brothers – Doug & Dinsdale – who employed a combination of “violence and sarcasm” to intimidate the London underworld and bring the city to its knees! Spiny Norman was an imaginary giant hedgehog that Dinsdale was afraid of that changed size according to Dinsdales mood.
