Yeah, I’m not surprised. In popular media, bigfooting is a big joke. Sad, pretty much skeptical myself, but I do feel looking into BF is a worthwhile cause. If there is something there, it’s important to find it. We used to live with hominids in the past, so it’s not so unbelievable that we still are. With that said, stuff like this makes me pretty annoyed. Its like they’re making fun of the idea of the exploration of the unknown.

What ever happened to the respect of those who put their reputations on line to explore the unknown. No one laughed at the Challenger crew when they dredged the deep sea. And I assure you they were looking for the sea monsters in stories told by seamen for centuries. But I know nothing about talk soup, I’m sure it was in good fun, but it a cheap kind of good fun in the end telling it’s viewers Cryptozoology is a joke.

Though I did think the shower comment was a funny…. Pity it was in the context of dissing exploration.

  2. Kahil responds:

I’m not surprised either, especially since the whole show is just “made for TV”. After all, all of the evidence shown on the show was faked. So I don’t think that they were trying to make light of cryptozoology. The show deserved to get made fun of like that. Sorry, I feel no pity for a show that fakes evidence just for ratings.

  3. Redrose999 responds:

Sadly I’m afraid they’d do that to a program that wasn’t “made for TV”. After what the today show did that one time, I really don’t have hope for the media.

  4. Mïk responds:

Relax. When was the last time Bigfoot was on a lightly-regarded back-water review show on cable? At least cryptozoology is being talked about. First, they’ll laugh; then, they’ll think; finally, they’ll believe. Bigfoot is getting noticed. It is an advancement. It’s all good. The show is based on viewing silly moments or gaffs on TV shows, and that was one. It may take a while to become mainstream, but this shows a footprint on the right path.

Can we get a standard in the names? To me, Bigfoot is a breed, indigenous the west coast of North America west of the Rockies, while sasquatch, to me, is the species, which includes Florida’s Swamp Ape, Austrailia’s Yowie, Asia’s Yeti, and others. I know we haven’t found any, but to help the conversation, we should be using the same references.

Sorta off topic but back in the 90s when Greg Kinnear hosted Talk Soup it was one of the funniest shows on TV.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
