Forbidden Bigfoot

Forbidden BF 1

Some time ago, I was interviewed by author Lisa A. Shiel for her new book, Forbidden Bigfoot. Well, it’s now available and, if like me, you’re into the stranger and more paranormally-themed aspects of the Bigfoot phenomenon, you should definitely pick up a copy, as it’s an excellent read! If you’re not, simply scowl and take a blood-pressure pill. But you should still read it.

To be sure, it’s a controversial subject-matter, but – what the hell – there’s nothing wrong with controversy…

Here’s the publisher’s info on Forbidden Bigfoot:

“Mysterious footprints. Eerie screams. For centuries, if not longer, stunned witnesses have reported face-to-face encounters with the bizarre beasts responsible for mystifying us with the tantalizing evidence they leave behind. Countless books and documentaries have offered up the same explanation, that Bigfoot are nothing more than large, bipedal apes that mainstream science has yet to accept as real. But is this the truth, or merely disinformation?

“Now, Lisa A. Shiel–author of the acclaimed Backyard Bigfoot–presents the uncensored facts about Bigfoot in a meticulously researched, no-holds-barred exploration of the phenomenon. Forbidden Bigfoot exposes the startling connections between Sasquatch and other unexplained phenomena, from UFOs and fairies to stick signs and crop-circle-like formations. Shiel strips away the hype about claims of Bigfoot DNA evidence, touted as the ultimate proof, and explores what genetics and the fossil record can really tell us about these elusive creatures.”

And we wonder why Cryptozoology can’t get no respect…

…lol, it’s about time someone was brave enough to reveal all details of the bigfoot/fairy connection that “the man” is hiding from us.

  3. DWA responds:

    OK, let’s review.

    1) what, precisely, are UFOs? Do we know?

    2) Is sasquatch real? Has that been proven?

    3) How many reports are there of bigfoot saucer pilots? I still have never read one. I have, now, read about unusual stuff COINCIDING with a bigfoot report.

No pills needed. Occam’s Razor always tells me how to handle these, and I am doing just fine.

  4. alan borky responds:

    Weird.

Nick I clicked on the Cryptomundo email an’ suddenly found meself momentarily relivin’ an OBE from a few years back where I’d seemed t’be hov’ring over this somehow familiar gleaming object which the moment it occurred t’me it might be your bald head I abruptly got yanked back from.

What seemed t’trigger it off was the browser landed me right on the part of the book’s cover where the base o’ the flying saucer’s just out o’ sight makin’ it somewhat resemble the overhead view of a pale bald head an’ nose.

A weird weird day full o’ weird weird events involving family members an’ friends not the least me brother suddenly sitting up an’ pointin’ at his mobile phone across the room an’ sayin’ “I can actually feel an’ hear me mobile ringin’ but clearly it isn’t!” only for it t’start ringin’ an’ the fan t’start takin’ the first of many weird hits.

I also just underwent the slightly odd experience of turnin’ the light on an’ off a few times an’ decidin’ a new bulb must be needed only to give it one last flick before I left the room an’ have it come on. Possibly a common experience for others but a first time for me.

Given the theme of Lisa’s book let’s hope it bodes well for her sales.

what’s the deal with so much dumb stupid stuff being posted here lately ? i became a big fan of cryptomundo years ago ! but lately it’s become yet another dumping ground for silly crap . sad , so sad 🙁

  6. corrick responds:

    Obvious typo error.
It’s really “Forbidden Bigfoot” by Lisa A. Shill, right?

  7. springheeledjack responds:

I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next person, but why is it that aliens, faeries, Bigfoot and Nessie always have to be in cahoots together. Is there some intergalactic watering hole where crypto-forteana all hang out together? I think too many times, people into the “fringe” things, ASSume that it somehow has to all be inbred and that the leprechauns are working with the aliens (or worse are the same critter) and that Bigfoots are just some intergalactic henchmen.

I’m all for theories, but at the same time, sometimes a banana is just a white fruit with a yellow peel and it doesn’t have anything to do with the apples and the pomegranates two shelves over.

I’m also a great fan of Occam’s Razor and I often use it to promote cryptozoology, however, in some cases the simplest answer is that there’s an unknown discovered primate wandering the wilds.

I’ve seen a show promoting this notion of Bigfoots and aliens (and it might have been this same woman touting it…), but from that segment there certainly isn’t enough evidence to even begin to start nodding, let alone buy into it.

Sorry Nick, not venturing down that rabbit hole.

  8. Hapa responds:

I have heard of supposed incidents where sasquatch and UFOs were seen together, but I have never heard of connections to fairies, crop circles, etc. Sounds like something that would be spoken of by the cast of “Finding Bigfoot” if they smoked crack.

  9. springheeledjack responds:

    And Ploughboy…amen.

There is fringe and there is fringe…cryptozoology is looking for flesh and blood critters…however, since Nessie, Bigfoot and Abominable get lumped in with it because they’re so enigmatic…suddenly crypto gets lumped in with all the other “Fringe” things like aliens, underground races, alternate dimensional things and so on.

I’d love to keep chatting, but I’ve got to get to my portal for a D-Jump…I’m having tea in ancient Lemuria.

  10. Nick Redfern responds:

It’s good to see so many open-minded people who are willing to read the book before actually commenting on it.

And yes that was meant as sarcasm.

Indeed, time and again I see so many Bigfooters moaning that the skeptics refuse to address the data. But, if those same Bigfooters ignore Lisa’s book and her data, how does that make them any different to the skeptics they criticize?

You will all/some/none be pleased to know that a big review will be coming soon! ENJOY!
