A Mexican Bestiary

Posted by: Nick Redfern on July 16th, 2012

This is a book brought to my attention yesterday by a friend, and which may be of interest. Written by David Bowles, its title is Mexican Bestiary.

We’re told in the blurb for the book: “Who protects our precious fields of corn? What leaps from the darkness when you least suspect it? Which spirit waits for little kids by rivers and lakes? From the ahuizotl to the xocoyoles—and all the imps, ghosts and witches in between—this illustrated bilingual encyclopedia tells you just what you need to know about the things that go bump in the night in Mexico and the US Southwest.”

And, as you’ll see from the very cool book-cover image, it looks as if it covers a great deal of cryptozoological material.

You can find out more about David Bowles and Mexican Bestiary right here.

  1. David-Australia responds:

For a moment, going by the title, I thought this was going to be about Mexican drug cartels and their savagery.

  2. Hapa responds:

This looks like it will be a very interesting book.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the long-faced-Leopard monster is that appears on the book’s cover.
