Biscardi: “I’ve been hoaxed, three times.”

Posted by: Loren Coleman on September 7th, 2008

Although the video was just added to YouTube, I’m uncertain how old it is. But the Biscardi “victim tone” of the cameo is priceless.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

  1. pre-cbs responds:

Wow, he has been hoaxed. I question him as a Bigfoot researcher (if that is the appropriate term in this context?), if he cannot tell the difference between a plastic mask and a real biologic creature.

My profession is “vintage dealer” and I deal with old guitars.

Every once in a while I get calls from people saying they want to sell me an old guitar worth a fortune. If I did not check the guitars properly before purchasing them I would also have been hoaxed many times. Yes, people forge guitars too (obviously there is money to make when an old Fender can cost over 100000US$).

I think that Biscardi would have taken his time and investigated everything in detail if he was serious. Obviously he is an attention seeker. I have studied psychology, social psychology and methodology and I think I have a fairly clear picture of all of this but it is not my job to smear other people.

Honour to Loren for having a look at things before posting it here. Saves me a lot of time:)
    Thank you

  2. Ceroill responds:

I love it. He ‘knows how to tell a fake’, but he’s been hoaxed three times. And the petroglyph…’taller than a man’? Since when have petroglyphs been established as being in any kind of comparative scale? The one shown does not seem to be adjacent to a smaller figure, so…oh well, it’s a minor point.

But you’re right, Loren, very amusing. Thanks for sharing this.

  3. Drosselmeyer responds:

It would be interesting to find out how old this is. Couldn’t be very recent, because it doesn’t mention the Georgia Gorilla hoax.

And yes, quite amusing. It looks like the hoaxed has become the hoaxer… or, wait, if he was already a hoaxer, then… ah, nevermind. Typical Biscardi.

  4. size 13 responds:

Hi Loren and thanks for the reminder. I am gonna have to Deal with the “Real Deal Guy” coming soon at an biannual Bigfoot hunt, where he rides the coattails of real researchers here in north Texas. Seems he schedules his searches the same week we do ours, twice a year, every year in the same general location.

He made mention once about “spraying the woods” with his son’s AK-47, disregarding who was in the woods.

It’s hard enough looking for the creatures without him.

  5. cmgrace responds:

You would think he would make a little more effort into investigating these people who have hoaxed and will continue to contact him claiming to have evidence.

  6. springheeledjack responds:

My personal belief…he’s saying he’s been hoaxed to try to keep himself out of trouble for having had his hands in this Georgia thing when it went off on him…no loss there.

  7. Quakerhead responds:

If this guy really is credible, I bet he’s kicking himself now for dealing with this shim-sham artist.

  8. fmurphy1970 responds:

Saw this video about three months back on YouTube, so definately recorded before Georgia hoax. So that makes it four for Tom Biscardi now! ‘Knows how to tell a fake’? Lets see, how long until the next one?

  9. cliffhanger042002 responds:

It’s a shame that Biscardi doesn’t focus his time and energy in a more positive way towards his alleged BF expeditions. I would love to be able to get out and explore like that guy claims he does, but it seems to me his time is more focused towards getting attention and trying to scam money off of honest folks, money that he does not deserve.

    cliff

  10. DWA responds:

The sooner squatchery’s done with Biscardi the better.

Count on it: when (OK, if) this animal is confirmed by science it will be the result of an intensive search by a scientific expedition with unimpeachable credentials – and a lot of input of both time and money. (Translation: don’t hold your breath.) Can anybody cite any instance of a new species being documented any other way? It will NOT be some hiker or hunter (or collection of fools) finding a body.

And it sure won’t be this guy.

  11. AlbertaSasquatch responds:

I actually saw this video at least a year ago and maybe even longer.
Just thought you would like to know.

  12. sasquatch responds:

Roger Peterson? Interesting name for the guy in the above video. Anyway, his emotions seemed rather forced. Biscardi? Well, he always seems like a used car salesman/politician to me. The less we see or hear of him from now on the better.
I hope he repents and becomes an honest something else…No more cryptozoology for him tho’- No-one would believe him even if he shot a bigfoot himself and had one of his own arms ripped off in the ensuing struggle. Can you imagine how embarrassed a Sasquatch would be if it got discovered by TB? That would be like Marvin Hagler losing to a fake boxer like Sylvester Stallone!

  13. Spyder responds:

This is at least two years old. I remember it was sometime after the C2C hoax/scheme that I saw this on the local news (down here in hot ol’ Phoenix) and rolled my eyes that the reporters apparently hadn’t bothered to do any research on TB’s background. Then again, they didn’t do it last month either. Defenders of liberty my bigfoot!

  14. Spinach Village responds:

This is part one; there is also a second part (from a couple years ago).

I was always fascinated with this clip… however I did not know who Tom Biscardi was then.

I think, like others have said that he is somewhat of a media attention-seeker of the worst kind.

He makes me mad; he is not doing anybody a favor by showing up in places where there very well could of been legitimate Bigfoot sightings.

I’m not sure how far back he has set the field of cryptozoology, but unless something big happens it could be years maybe and that’s sad.

He is the classic “wolf crier.” Now all other Bigfoot related stories will be treated with even greater skepticism.

    Note:
I see the hand in the jar was already covered before I became a regular reader here.

I’m a little out of touch on that one, and how the comment dialogue went.

    🙂

  15. Indian Tracker responds:

As for the questions that we asked, when was this filmed…it was late ’06 or early ’07.

It appears in TB’s movie Bigfoot Lives, and my thought about the title of this so-call documentary…

We all know that bigfoot lives, cause it sure as heck is evident that TB won’t ever find this creature…or his own integrity.

Stop now…TB while you still have a shred of decency left…ooooops he just lost that..

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
