Here is one such appearance in which Byrne discusses his search for the Abominable Snowmen, which occurred during the quests sponsored by Tom Slick.

These clips are from the classic series.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

Wow, these bring back memories! I remember watching these as a kid back in the 70’s. “In Search Of” played a huge part in getting me interested in cryptids and other mysteries. It certainly was the pioneer of the shows we have today.

  2. squatchwatcher responds:

awesome! you ever notice how these older programs actually put a little time and effort into their creature costumes? Nowadays it seems like all the programs use gorilla costumes or cheesy CGI effects. Anyway, thanks Loren this brings back alot of memories!

  3. DARHOP responds:

Very Kool. I wish I could do half the exploring Peter has done in his life. I’m gonna go on my first Squatch expedition in June. Getting really excited about it.

  4. johnstownmonster responds:

This series is one of my fondest memories of childhood television. I love it and it’s really cool to see these again! THANKS for posting.

  6. bill green responds:

I really liked the old “In Search Of” series, as well. This does bring memories. Yes, it still a wonderful show.

  7. springheeledjack responds:

I love those things…they have released the DVD collection, but I have not found it for anything under $200, and that sucks!

That music was creepy too…still, as a kid, was glued to the set, and it started me down the path to this passion…so thanks to IN SEARCH OF, and Leonard Nemoy of course!

  8. Ole Bub responds:

Peter Byrne…a true gentleman…one of the four horsemen…may he live long and prosper…

    live and let live…
