Eddy the Yeti To Make Appearance

This coming weekend, beginning on Friday, at the Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine, there will be Eddy the Yeti sightings. It seems that Eddy the Yeti encounters increased in 2009, we are told.

Come join the party at Winterfest 2010 where we kick-off the season with a bang for the third year in a row. The festivities will begin on Friday Night and continue through the weekend from a “Go Back in Time” party at the Foggy Goggle, “Many Flavors of Sunday River” food event, fireworks, free skiing on Saturday night, appearances from Eddy the Yeti and Santa, and much more!

Winterfest Lodging Specials
Winterfest ski and stay package that includes slopeside lodging, lift tickets and adult Perfect Turn clinics are available from just $69 per person, and season passholders can stay for as little as $39 per person.

Friday, December 17th

Dining at the Peak – Fine dining at 2,100 ft.
A one-of-a-kind fine dining experience. Ride the Chondola to Sunday River’s mid-mountain Peak Lodge. Upon reaching the Peak Lodge you will be greeted with complimentary champagne, passed hor’dourves and live musical entertainment. Delight your palate with an exquisite dinner menu you won’t be able to resist. Seatings are from 7-8:30pm; open until 10pm. Cost is $59.00 per person. Reservations are required. Saturday, December 18th

“Many Flavors of Sunday River” Food Festival ~ 7-9pm
Bethel area restaurants will showcase their most popular menu items, plus specialty bars featuring beer, wineand local spirits will be scattered throughout South Ridge Lodges upper food court Mahoosuc Room. Admission is $15 per person. Want to receive $5 off your admission? By cleaning out your closet and bringing some old ski jackets to donate to ‘Coats for Kids’ your price for admission will be $10.

Book Signing by Dave Irons, Author of Sunday River: Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future ~ Noon – 3pm
The perfect holiday gift. Take a piece of the resort’s 50-year history home in the form of a hard covered coffee table book. Written by Dave Irons, a Maine native and former director of Sunday River ski patrol, the book covers pieces of the resort’s history in 112 pages filled with interviews and personal accounts.

Free Night Skiing ~ 4-8pm
Celebrate our first night of 12-Hour Skiing/Riding with us! From 4–8 p.m.,

Santa Wish Party for Kids ~ 3-5pm
Keep your eyes on the sky for Santa’s arrival from the North Pole. Santa will be taking wishes at the Sunday River Discovery Center. Come whisper your holiday wish into Santa’s ear.
Go Back in Time Christmas Party at the Foggy Goggle
3pm-Late Nite
The Foggy Goggle’s 1st annual Christmas party with the theme go back in time! Come dressed in your favorite 70’s and 80’s attire and get a Christmas present from the Goggle. We will kick things off at 3 PM with
the 80’s band Time Pilots, followed by Motor Booty Affair at 7PM. The night will be spectacular – from the Afros, bell bottoms, platform shoes, polyester and dance moves, to the highest quality sound and light show this side of 1975! Don’t forget the fireworks at 8:30pm best viewed from the deck of the Foggy Goggle.

Come watch a spectacular display of brilliant colors light up the Winterfest sky above Sunday River. Fireworks are best viewed slopeside at South Ridge Lodge, or deckside at the Foggy Goggle.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.
