Green Winged Weirdie

The source for this story is a book by L.M.
Title in english would be Mysteries of Värmland – short essays on belief and superstition.
Värmland is an area in south-west Sweden.

On page 10 of the book we find the following story;

Translated to english:
Around the year 1850 a man called Eric Ädel together with his sister were at a mill on one side of Lake Busjön. It was late afternoon and they were going to row back home, they heard from the mountain Hunflen a peculiar strong hissing sound. Suddenly they saw a large green clothed woman come hovering a few meters above the water. She followed them at a distance across the entire lake. But suddenly she turned, rose straight up in the air to a height of one hundred meters, then did a circle flight over the lake and finally fell in a vertical line with a deafening crash down towards and into the Hunflen.
