Mexican Batman

Posted by: Loren Coleman on April 12th, 2009

Scott Corrales has translated a new report of a “Batman” being seen in Mexico, as recently as March 2009. It is said to look like this:

“Mexico: State of Chihuahua Terrorized by ‘Man-Bat’ – A Report” by Professor Ana Luisa Cid, details that the creature is a “very tall entity, standing some 2 meters tall, with two pairs of wings (one pair larger than the other). Its face is covered in fur and has red, bloodshot eyes. Also reported are a pair of small, kangaroo type hands that it held loosely, as though it lacked any strength in them.”

Professor Cid said, “Many think that it was just a myth, while others associate it with Mothman.”

The story may be seeing an unfolding of incidents as bizarre as those mentioned in The Mothman Prophecies: An Investigation Into the Mysterious American Visits of the Infamous Feathery Garunda (New York: Saturday Review Press/E. P. Dutton, 1975).

Updated:

There seems to be full-scale panic over the above or another Batman seen in La Junta, Guerrero, Mexico. The witnesses of this winged humanoid with a fur-covered face and a height of 2 meters are also tying the reports to local livestock deaths.

“This creature was seen in the vicinity of Cimbraplay, near Saenz Guerrero, where several sheep were found dead in recent days at three different ranches. They had all been slain in the same fashion: a large cut to the neck and another on part of the tail,” reports El Heraldo de Chihuahua.

Fuller details are available here.

Appreciation to PH for the heads up on this news, and to the work of Scott Corrales for his bicultural investigative efforts.

Happy Easter, Passover, and Mothman enlightenment, which happens every April, it appears. Thank you for your support and do today…

If this was any other place in the world, I’d say maybe a little investigation would be a good idea. But this is Mexico and I wouldn’t trust them if they said the sky was blue.

  2. boxerpit responds:

it looks like a bat creature from the 1st beastmaster movie with marc singer

  3. Fhqwhgads responds:

I believe the correct name is “Bat-Manuel”. Not bad, but I liked him better as “Die Fledermaus”.

  4. graybear responds:

So that’s where Batboy went after he smelled out Saddam Hussein. Good to know.

  5. red_pill_junkie responds:

To me the most interesting thing is that the sighting made by the terrorized college student was done when he was passing a bridge; so there’s the usual link of Mothman-type phenomena and bridges.

There’s also this interesting cultural interpretation. One of the witnesses was convinced she had seen ‘La Santa Muerte’ (Saint Death), a cult that is gaining a lot of attention lately; specially since the government is destroying several altars dedicated to it, because the drug lords and other criminal organizations are devoted to it.

Reading the reports, there’s a brief mention of a possible photo of the creature. Let’s hope it surfaces eventually.

PS: Fhqwhgads, good one, señor! 🙂

This report me reminds me from a similar case in Nuevo León, México, which became very famous in the paranormal field.

A policemen was patrolling in his police car, when he saw a black object falling from the sky, which soon transformed in a horrible female humanoid with a dark cloak. The evil being attacked the windshield of the car, trying to capture the policemen. He lost consciousness, and was found later by other cops.

He was heavily interrogated several times, and he insisted that he was not lying. Some days later, other colleagues told that they have seen also the same evil being and they also got afraid, so it became known as “la bruja” (the witch).
