Tentative Festival Schedule of Events
(Subject to Change)

Saturday Sept. 15th
10AM Mayor’s Welcome from Mayor Marilyn McDaniel and festival staff at the Mothman Statue.

Guest speakers: Riverfront amphitheater… all special guest speakers will be answering questions and discussing their topics in an open forum format at the amphitheater following their lectures. Event will be held indoors in case of inclement weather. Schedule is subject to change as festival dates approach. The guest speaker event will be hosted by the crew from Ghostly Talk radio.

NEW ADD: Also on hand will be legendary rock illustrator Jeff Gaither to meet with festival goers. Jeff has worked with major label recording acts such as The Misfits, Guns-N-Roses, Biohazard, Insane Clown Posse, The Accused, and others. He’ll have special limited edition prints available commemorating this year’s festival. www.gaithergraphix.com

Also on hand to meet festival goers will be John and Tim Frick (the Frick brothers-designers of flying Mothman and festival co-organizers), Carolin Harris (Harris Steakhouse and festival organizer), Jeff Wamsley and Donnie Sergent jr. (co-authors of Mothman: Facts Behind the Legend), Denny Bellamy (PP tourism director), newly elected Point Pleasant mayor Marilyn McDaniel, Jeremy Pitchford and Todd Wiseman of the Mothman Museum.

UPDATE: The State Theater will be hosting ROCK FEST 2007 on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th, including a special Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing/experience/performance later on Saturday evening. Classic Car Show with some ’60s era cars such as the 55 chevy driven by the 4 witnesses on Nov. 11, 1966 in the TNT area.

The Mothman Band will be performing at 1pm on Saturday near the Mothman statue. This is the band’s 6th appearance at the Mothman festival.

Visit the world’s only Mothman Museum here on Main Street. See the Mothman Prophecies movie props, private archive collections and rare Mothman displays. Visit the Mothman Media room. [Mothman Museum gift shop will be outside to accomodate more visitors.] Admission is $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for kids under 10. The Mothman Museum will be open on Friday and Saturday from 10am-MIDNIGHT and on Sunday 11am-5pm. Cameras and photos are permitted.

The Mothman Tram & Shuttle runs all day on Saturday and Sunday from 10am til 6pm to drop off and pick up festival goers at the River Museum and Silver Bridge Memorial. Shuttle returns to Gunn Park on continuous loop. $1.00 per round trip.

Visit the Mothman Diner (aka Harris Steakhouse). The diner in the Mothman Prophecies movie was based on the Harris Steakhouse and is owned and operated by festival co-organizer Carolin Harris.

8PM Saturday evening Mothman TNT tours at the Mason County farm Museum in the TNT area.

The Mothman TNT tour/hayride tickets will be on sale all day at the Mothman Info table in Gunn Park in front of the Mothman statue and also at the Farm museum during the hayride. We will sell tickets designed to let you pick the time you would like to ride. Each ride will depart every 15 minutes so when your time is called, you can board the wagons. 20-25 riders will be designated for each of the wagons. This will eliminate the long wait and let you have a chance to relax and look around the Farm museum. The restaurant and gift shop will be open all evening and we will have the KENT BOOGEY band on the stage beginning at 8pm.

We will be showing Mothman/UFO/paranormal clips and presentations (Unsolved Mysteries, CBS news segment, Mystery Hunters, Monsters of the UFO, Search for Mothman and more) at the State Theater beginning at noon on Sunday the 16th. A requested $2.00 donation for a handstamp will admit you for all day viewing.

DJ Scott’s Karaoke will be onhand Saturday and Sunday for any interested performers and singers in the festival crowd. We know you are out there.

While downtown be sure to visit the Point Pleasant River Museum, the Silver Bridge Memorial, Riverfront Park and floodwall murals, Tu-Endi-Wei State Park, Fort Randolph… and much more.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

    Maybe I’m a little biased (I used to play drums for them) but the band “Mothman”, who will be playing at the statue, are worth checking out. A nice mix of otherworldly originals (“Another Displaced Appalachian”, “Certified Financial Peninsula”, etc.) and classic covers from Gordon Lightfoot to Black Sabbath.
    Too bad I’ll be staying home in Austin this year.
