Cryptozoology Speakers At October Conference

Posted by: Loren Coleman on September 9th, 2011

Plattsburgh, New York, near the shores of Lake Champlain, will be playing host to various experts in cryptozoology as well as other unexplained topics coming this October when the 3rd Annual Northern NY Paranormal EXPO is hosted. The EXPO, scheduled for October 1-2, 2011, will be open to the public at the Crete Center at 10:00 a.m. each day. Special guest speakers will be featured each day, addressing topics including cryptozoology (specifically on the Lake Champlain Monster, Mothman, and Bigfoot/Sasquatch), ufology, demonology, parapsychology and more.

EXPO organizer and President of the Northern NY Paranormal Research Society (NNYPRS), Merrill McKee, is excited to bring this line-up to Plattsburgh. “This is our 3rd year, and we have yet to be able to provide such a diverse field of experts.” McKee stated.

Paul Bartholomew was on MonsterQuest’s New York Bigfoot episode.

Paul Bartholomew, co-author of Bigfoot Encounters in New York & New England, will be one of the key speakers.

Dan Lowenski is well-known as a ufology speaker.

Dan Lowenski will be presenting an in-depth look into “Mothman,” after his research took him to Point Pleasant, West Virginia, which had sightings that spurned the movie, The Mothman Prophecies.

When not playing Thor for media photographers, Scott Mardis chases Champ.

The Lake Champlain Monster, or Champ, talk will be headed by Scott Mardis who has been on national TV programs, including The History Channel’s MonsterQuest. He has been studying Champ for over a decade and has written about his research.

Other talks will be given on a variety of “paranormal” topics.

As in the past two years, the EXPO will have a full vendor area featuring the opportunity to receive psychic readings, Reiki healing sessions, as well as shop for many types of metaphysical items. Different paranormal research teams will also be on hand in this area to answer questions, show tools of the trade, and evidence collected.

NNYPRS will be looking to team up with a local food pantry again this year as they offer $2 off admission if you bring a non-perishable food item to the gate. Last year, NNYPRS was able to donate over 150 lbs of food thanks to the generosity of the public who attended the EXPO.
