Reader’s Digest Best of America: International Cryptozoology Museum

Many people are planning their summer trips, and finding this issue in their doctors’ and dentists’ offices. The May 2011 issue of Reader’s Digest declared the International Cryptozoology Museum one of the “Best of America.”

The digest magazine picked the country’s greatest attractions to visit. On page 97, there we are. Top of the pack. Under “Best of America ~ Best Spectacles,” the editors write: “Our Curators recommend these unusual collections from around the country.”

International Cryptozoology Museum
Don’t miss: Anything. Cryptozoology is the study of mysterious creatures, such as Bigfoot, mermaids, and other “wonders of the world,” models of which reside here.

Portland, Maine.

They topped the section with a photo of the museum’s Bigfoot.

We are honored by this pick.

Already people have visited the museum saying that they were coming to see the exhibits because they saw the story in Reader’s Digest, when at their doctor’s office and during their flight to New England. Cryptotourism and cryptozoology educational experiences are alive and well in Portland, Maine.

For a free download of the magazine, go to your favorite internet search engine, type in “Reader’s Digest” and “May 2011,” and you will be given a wide variety of free download sites to click.
