Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

  11. Ayala responds:

  12. DARHOP responds:

^5 & congats Loren & Jeff! You are in great company. If I had to be in a tie for Cryptozoologist of the year. It would be an honor for it to be with someone like Jeff Meldrum or Loren Coleman. And I’m not surprized that the Biguns got Cryptid of the year. Very Kool. Glad Cryptomundo got site of the year. Don’t see that changing anytime soon. Over all it’s been a great year for cryptozoology. Hopefully next year will be better. Hopefully thehoch is right, 08 will be the year. That would be awesome. I have a question? What makes one a Bigfooter? Cuz, Steve Kulls, I’m coming after your title. (Just kidding)

Really though. What makes one a Bigfooter? Is it someone who spend alot of time in the bush and does alot of research. Collects cast and what not? That’s what I gather a Bigfooter is. Anyway, again hi five Loren & Jeff on the tie. This site rocks!

  13. peterbernard responds:

haha Loren, nothing could humble you. You’re the Santa Claus of Cryptozoology for the whole current generation of kids out there.

  14. squatchdetective responds:

I must say I am quite humbled and surprised to be bestowed these honors as well. Congrats to Loren, Jeff & Cryptomundo as well. Thanks everyone and Cryptomudo.com for your support.

  15. CamperGuy responds:

    Woo Hoo!

    Well done and well deserved.

    Congrats!
