C2C: Thunderbirds + La Bruja

I will be on Coast to Coast AM for an hour from 10 PM-11 PM Pacific (June 1, 2008), 1 AM-2 AM Eastern (June 2), tonight, talking about Thunderbirds. How far we drift into general cryptozoology, the M. K. Davis Bigfoot Massacre theory, and the Bushnell One Million Dollar Bigfoot Photo prize depends on George Noory and people that call in, I suppose.

I doubt we will talk about Mothman.

However, perhaps one thing that needs to be reexamined is the following video from Mexico of la bruja, the “flying witch” or “flying humanoid.”

In talking to Mark A. Hall (author of Thunderbirds) this evening before my Coast to Coast AM appearance, he suggested I review this video with another idea/point of view from his mind: Could this perhaps be a cryptid bird carrying a sheep? Take a look:

Of course, the flight does not look like a bird’s, the detail is too diffuse, and the history behind it gives us not much more information that from most YouTube videos.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

  1. Bake Neko responds:

I will be sure to tune in Mr. Coleman.

  2. MountDesertIslander responds:

No way that can be a bird. I have seen osprey carrying small fish and they have a distinct dip and swale in their flight due to the added load. This object moves more like a floating balloon than a bird. This is not a cryptid bird by any stretch of the imagination.

Call Macy’s to see if they lost a Thanksgiving Day parade entry.

  3. tetrismaster responds:

I’ll be sure to tune in as well.
I think the “bruja” video needs to reviewed. I read this new report on

    http://ghosttheory.com/?p=51

I think this researcher put a spin on things.

    can’t wait for tonight’s show

  4. Unity responds:

Interesting video. The object doesn’t seem to move very much – no flapping wings, no up and down variation in the flight pattern that would point to a bird working hard to keep a heavy prey item aloft.

  5. PhotoExpert responds:

    Good Luck tonight Loren!

I will be staying up late and tuning in. Sleep will have to take a backseat to subject matter as interesting as this is.

  6. Andrew Minnesota responds:

I’ve seen this before I believe there is a translated version floating around youtube as well. I don’t think it’s a bird gliding and using air pockets for lift so they don’t need to flap their wings or anything like that. The shape is weird but I once noticed a comment on youtube from someone suggesting that it was actually something similar to a ski lift that was taking people up and down those mountains. Giving them a scenic view you know? I can’t see a wire in the film but the way the light was shining it might be hard to see. I’m not saying that it is a lift of some sort, sometimes it does seem unlikely. But it’s just an idea and I have seen other videos of these flying humanoids where you can see a wire and the lift theory seems far more plausible. Just something to consider.

I do love the X-Files music in the background either way 🙂

  7. sasquatch responds:

It looks like a drone machine of some kind by the way it moves. I saw a video of a “ufo” that was a vertical cylinder and it moved the same way. Maybe some wise acre tech- head dressed this one up with a witch mask and hat to get a few laughs on the locals.

  8. glendoor42 responds:

At one of my kids birthday parties we had a considerable amount of helium left. Some of the fathers and myself decide to fill some large garbage bags with the left over helium. The flying garbage bags looked incredibly like the flying witch in the first video.

  9. rodrigo responds:

i never really pay attention to Primer Impacto. but this was interesting.

  10. Spinach Village responds:

    pretty cool.. thanks

  11. red_pill_junkie responds:

I’m kicking myslef for missing the C2C transmission with Loren. Did someone recorded it? 🙁

  12. sasquatch responds:

You can go to the Coast To Coast website and listen to last nights show.

  13. Munnin responds:

Sorry that I missed that C2C broadcast! Dang. As regards the video, there’s no denying the apparently genuine fear on the part of the young policeman. The thing sure does look like a balloon in that video footage though. The flight characteristics don’t look even remotely avian to me. I’ve never seen a condor flying in real life; but in their natural environments I have seen a golden eagle in flight, a very large red tailed hawk lifting off the ground with an enormous California king snake in its talons, and numerous ospreys in flight, with and without any prey in their grasp. This really looks to me like some sort of LTA craft, either driven along with an air current, or under it’s own power somehow. But I’d be willing to bet money that it’s no bird.

  14. timi_hendrix responds:

    I tuned in!

    Good work Loren!
Can’t wait for more Crytozoology discussions!

  15. Samson77 responds:

I think glendoor42 hit it right on the head. It definetly looks like a balloon floating away against the skyline. It moves at about the same speed.

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
