Another Wife Swap Statement

One must remember that “reality television” is only another form of “created reality” on television.

Rob Robinson sends in another statement:

I seem to have come under some fire about the Wife Swap episode and my short comings as a father. I just wanted to give you know a little background on me. First: I am retired military, serving as a US Army military policeman for twenty two years. Second: I was a single parent to three sons for three years before I met my wife Tracy. Tracy has a great relationship with my sons. When I was deployed she took care of my sons. I have loved cryptozoology since I was a kid which started when my mother (She’s British) took me to Loch Ness. I never really got to monster hunt in the military, due to all the deployments overseas, but I always had a crytpozoology book with me. I do not put anything before my family. My son does like to stay in his room but he does that by choice. I don’t make him go to his room. Josh recently was awarded his black belt in Tae Kwon Do and he wants to get into culinary which I have always incouraged. I did refuse to see my hovercraft on the show, because I believe that if you want something bad enough you will get off your butt and find a way to earn the money yourself. People do not appricate things that are given to as much a when you bust your butt to earn them. I scraped money for two years for that hovercraft, which took me an additional four years to restore it. Being in the military I have seen soldiers die without being able to full fill their dreams. I have retired from the army so now I can full fill my dreams like monster hunting and enjoying my hovercraft. But my family still comes first. I will always be there for my children, which by the way I have six all together. I have three and Tracy has three from our first marriages. The show led you to believe that we only had one. Also my one year old grandson was staying with us at the time, but due to legal issues, he had to stay off camera. I loved doing the show and I can laugh at myself. I know that I am not the most mature person in the world, but I don’t care, I like who I am and I enjoy what I do. I have been getting some bad emails relating to my maturity but again folks you need to remember that the show took over two weeks of filming and edited down into one hour and they are only going to show the good stuff. I was aware that this could happen when I volunterred to be on the show. I don’t regret my decision.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman

Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations.
