BIGFOOT UPDATE: POLICE SCANNER TAPE REVEALS CREATURE’S WHEREABOUTS

August 15, 2006

PINE RIDGE, South Dakota (Wireless Flash) — There’s been a rash of Bigfoot sightings at the Lakota Sioux Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and a police scanner recording is the most compelling evidence yet.

That’s the word from cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, who says the 90-second audio clip — which was taped this past Friday (Aug. 11) — features a female police officer investigating a sighting of a "tall, dark, hunchbacked creature" dancing around a light pole.

Coleman says the recording has "extremely high credibility," in part to the officer’s "matter of fact" way of relating the sighting.

He says the recording lends credence to claims that the hairy creatures have been on the reservation for weeks and are spending their nights peeking into windows.

Meanwhile, the Sasquatch sightings aren’t stopping. Coleman says there was another one on Saturday (Aug. 12) about 50 miles away from Friday’s report, which suggests a pack of the hairy creatures are migrating towards the northeast.

Recording available here.

P.S. Also, newspapers and television stations in South Dakota, Iowa, and other surrounding states, as well as the Associated Press, are beginning to discuss the Rapid City School of Mining and Technology’s denial that they are holding a body of a dead Bigfoot. Various Pine Ridge residents and medicine men have been interviewed for their reactions to the "killed Bigfoot" rumor.

Loren Coleman About Loren Coleman
Loren Coleman is one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists, some say “the” leading living cryptozoologist. Certainly, he is acknowledged as the current living American researcher and writer who has most popularized cryptozoology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Starting his fieldwork and investigations in 1960, after traveling and trekking extensively in pursuit of cryptozoological mysteries, Coleman began writing to share his experiences in 1969. An honorary member of Ivan T. Sanderson’s Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained in the 1970s, Coleman has been bestowed with similar honorary memberships of the North Idaho College Cryptozoology Club in 1983, and in subsequent years, that of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, CryptoSafari International, and other international organizations. He was also a Life Member and Benefactor of the International Society of Cryptozoology (now-defunct). Loren Coleman’s daily blog, as a member of the Cryptomundo Team, served as an ongoing avenue of communication for the ever-growing body of cryptozoo news from 2005 through 2013. He returned as an infrequent contributor beginning Halloween week of 2015. Coleman is the founder in 2003, and current director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

Somehow I just don’t see a bigfoot “wearing a backpack” and “dancing around a light pole.”

  2. Loren Coleman responds:

Remember, those two descriptions are from humans, and you seem to have forgotten about the refinement after the first description. To another Bigfoot, it could merely be “hunchbacked” and “moving swiftly away from the lighted area.”

Listen to the tape again, and move your point of view from a human’s to one of an intelligent hairy hominid’s.

  3. bigsassy responds:

Ya the whole dancing around a light pole sounds like someone playing a practical joke.

  4. DWA responds:

Oh, the sense of humor one must have to follow the crypto muse.

  5. P.S.Anderson responds:

Actually, these reports are sounding truthful and authentic to me. As Loren commented, the viewpoints and mentalities of humans and other creatures, I’m sure, differ greatly. Native peoples also have more of an understanding of the links between the natural and spiritual world, than say, folks of European descent. I feel these reports are getting deeper and possibly more clearer at the same time.

once again people your all or some of you are making decisions based on assumptions.

like Loren said hunch back backpack baby etc. there are several reasons for the description. assuming its fake because of the description creates a bias in your mind when evaluating all new reports or evidence on the subject.

same thing goes for the dancing. dancing means many things to many people. was the subject really swaying to side back and forward. in the dark with a pole it could look like dancing when the subject was hiding behind a pole it interpreted as a tree and as such was exhibiting normal and multiple reported behavior

assumptions kill integrity and reputations and jades you till you discount everything cause you can explain it away.

plausible explanations should be considered for everything but they shouldn’t just be explained away and discounted.

dont buy anything hook line and sinker either.

  7. timi_hendrix responds:

In there Patterson Video the Bigfoot walks very gracefully.
So in this case it could almost look like it was dancing in the dark, if you will.
    🙂

Odd that this is happening on an indian reservation. A lot of tribes have stories of wildmen and other strange creatures. I live on the appalachian reservation and it is the same here. We have a creature that we call round foot. He is all white and stands erect and is about 4 or 5 feet high. His tracks are almost perfectly round. My granddad had a run in with him in the 1930’s. Most people refuse to talk about him. In one case, roundfoot helped a man home who had broken some ribs when he was out in a bad snow storm. The man’s name was Copper Jack because he saved jars of pennies. Copper Jack died in about 1975.

I don’t think roundfoot is a bigfoot monster. He is much more civilized than that. He is definitely not human. Everyone who has seen him says he is some kind of albino animal. He has no tail.

    beatles127:
Which “Appalachian Reservation” are you talking about?
Are you in the Smokies? Tennessee or the Carolinas?
