John Kirk on Alaskan Cadborosaurus Footage Update

Posted by: John Kirk on June 30th, 2011

Well fellow Cryptomundians. I am am excited and horrified that this is finally going to air. Excited because now it is possible that they will show the footage that Paul Leblond and I viewed and horrified because I see guns and explosions. I don’t think that they got anywhere near the Cadborosaurus-like creatures we witnessed so the guns and bangs are hype.

Nobody else has seen the creatures in that area since. In fact, the last Caddy sightings in Alaska were reported in Ketchikan in 2010, quite a ways from the Nushagak Bay footage as I have now ascertained it took place in 2008. On that occasion, two families saw two of the animals and they witnessed them come ashore briefly before entering the water.

All I can say is they better do a good job. The parts they show in the above video are just teasers, there’s way better sequences than they have tantalized us with. If they show the footage with the enhancements done by Captain KN and his crew who filmed it as Paul and I have seen it, then it will be mind-blowing.

At last everybody is going to get at least a look at what I say is probably a whole pod of Caddys. Let’s hope they do this justice amigos, or I am going to complain like there is no tomorrow. I hope and pray that we get the best of this precious footage.

John Kirk About John Kirk
One of the founders of the BCSCC, John Kirk has enjoyed a varied and exciting career path. Both a print and broadcast journalist, John Kirk has in recent years been at the forefront of much of the BCSCC’s expeditions, investigations and publishing. John has been particularly interested in the phenomenon of unknown aquatic cryptids around the world and is the author of In the Domain of the Lake Monsters (Key Porter Books, 1998). In addition to his interest in freshwater cryptids, John has been keenly interested in investigating the possible existence of sasquatch and other bipedal hominids of the world, and in particular, the Yeren of China. John is also chairman of the Crypto Safari organization, which specializes in sending teams of investigators to remote parts of the world to search for animals as yet unidentified by science. John travelled with a Crypto Safari team to Cameroon and northern Republic of Congo to interview witnesses among the Baka pygmies and Bantu bushmen who have sighted a large unknown animal that bears more than a superficial resemblance to a dinosaur. Since 1996, John Kirk has been editor and publisher of the BCSCC Quarterly which is the flagship publication of the BCSCC. In demand at conferences, seminars, lectures and on television and radio programs, John has spoken all over North America and has appeared in programs on NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, TLC, Discovery, CBC, CTV and the BBC. I wouldn’t worry too much. I suspect most of the guns, and explosions were done when they initially were filming the show as Hillstranded. Keep in mind before the lawsuit, it was a different show, about Alaska, not cryptids.

But I think, you’ll get some nice footage and interesting approaches to Caddy exploration, and there is a Cryptozoologist involved, so it might surprise us all. But yeah, looking at it as someone who wants to see serious Cryptozoology, it does seem a little frightening. As a fan of the Hillstrand brothers, I rather expect craziness mixed with dedication to whatever they are doing.

    I’m with Redrose999 on this.

It will be heavy on entertainment and light on science BUT if nothing else it should bring a whole new set of fresh eyes to the Caddie scene. True some will be there to point and smirk, but it may well be this show that alerts someone to report what they have seen. Might bring some much needed research money to the cause as well.

As for the explosions, the Hillstand Bros are a bit outrageous but in a good way. And as we’ve learned when it comes to TV everything seems to be done in extremes. So why use sonar when you can use m-80 instead? (hopefully not THAT extreme but you get the idea)

Let’s not panic just yet and give the show a chance, especially if the ‘monster’ angle was a last minute spin to deal with a lawsuit as Redrose has stated.

  3. korollocke responds:

Dont expect to say anything that will be a sea monster. It be unidentifiable at best just all the other so called water monster footage.

  4. HulkSmashNow responds:

I wouldn’t expect much from the whole thing. I’ll DVR it and just skip to the footage.

  5. ETxArtist responds:

These shows are made to be entertainment, not scientific studies. Just pop the corn, pop the top, sit back, and enjoy the spectacle. Same goes for the Bigfoot show running right now. None of it is serious.

  6. Mibs responds:

Looking forward to seeing the footage, but my 6th Sense tells me that it will be nothing short intriguing yet inconclusive.

  7. Know it all responds:

So they’re going to run ALL the footage and the enchanced closeups?

Ya mean not just some ambiguous snippets?

The Men in Black (or black uniforms) sure must be sleeping on the job on this one….

    don’t hold your breath

  8. lukedog 1 responds:

$70,000 will have to show more than an blobsquatch/vidblob…………wouldnt it?

Sorry. Comments have been closed.
