His investigative cryptozoology books, “The Beast of Boggy Creek” and “Lizard Man,” reflect his life-long fascination with legends and sighting reports of real-life ‘monsters.’ During his research, Lyle has often explored the remote reaches of the southern U.S. in search of shadowy creatures said to inhabit the dense backwoods and swamplands of these areas.

Behind the Scenes of Finding Bigfoot: “Surf’s Up, Sasquatch” with Cliff Barackman

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on November 23rd, 2013

Santa Cruz is pretty familiar territory for me, having been there probably a few dozen times over the years to visit friends. I had been there two or three times in the past specifically for bigfoot reasons, particularly when I lived in San Francisco, CA back in the late 1990′s. The areas between Big Basin and Pescadero were my target areas, though I ventured as far south as Big Sur. Though I have never run across a bigfoot in the region, I am certain bigfoots are at least part-time residents of the local mountains, and possibly even full-time ones.

Behind the Scenes of Finding Bigfoot: “Return to Boggy Creek” with Cliff Barackman

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on November 13th, 2013

Any bigfooter who was alive in the 1970′s has been influenced to some degree by the movie, The Legend of Boggy Creek. This 1972 pseudo-documentary certainly affected me in a huge way. Little did I know that decades later I would be visiting Fouke, Arkansas in an attempt to run into the Fouke Monster for myself.

Bobo Talks About a Terrifying Bigfoot Encounter

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on November 6th, 2013

Bobo of Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot had the following to say about Mike Wooley’s Bigfoot encounter in Louisiana.

Great interview! Just a few miles from where we squatched in LA episode. Would be interested in what law enforcement specialists in lie detection think of this interview. I bet he’d pass a polygraph with flying colors.

In search of Bigfoot? Enjoy one of these outings while you’re at it

Halloween is a great time to search the dark North woods for Bigfoot. And maybe you’ll find a nice hike.
