Ken Gerhard’s Top 10 Flying Humanoids

Posted by: Ken Gerhard on October 20th, 2013

For centuries, mythologies all over the world have portrayed flying humanoid creatures, greatly feared because their appearance seems to spell out death and destruction for those who are unfortunate enough to cross their path. Surprisingly though, encounters with these unnatural entities continue into modern times. Here, then, is my top ten list of the winged creatures that have most captured the public’s imagination in recent years.

Transporting the Minnesota Iceman

Posted by: Lyle Blackburn on June 28th, 2013

It’s back! The 1960s sideshow attraction known as the “Minnesota Icemen” has resurfaced and taken up residence at the Museum of the Weird in Austin, Texas. The infamous gaff recently turned up on ebay with an asking price of $20,000. It was promptly sold to an undisclosed buyer, which turned out to be my friend Steve Busti, owner of the Museum of the Weird.

Details of the purchase remained under wraps until Tuesday night when the Minnesota Iceman was featured on the A&E network show, Shipping Wars. In order to transport the Iceman from Minnesota to Austin, Steve worked out a deal with the network. As part of the show, Steve and the driver Jennifer, stopped off in Fouke, Arkansas where they met up with myself and fellow cryptid researchers, Ken Gerhard, Chris Buntenbah, and John Attaway. We then took Steve and Jennifer into the woods near Boggy Creek for an evening of “bigfoot hunting.” The next day they continued the trip until finally reaching Austin.

Reflections on the Loch Ness Monster

Posted by: Ken Gerhard on April 26th, 2013

For my first ever Cryptomundo post, I thought it would be fitting to reflect on the Loch Ness mystery for a couple of reasons. First off, it was at age fifteen (back in 1982) that I wandered the shores of the mist-shrouded loch, armed with my little super 8 movie camera in hopes of, capturing footage of a monster. As it turned out, that particular enterprise became an influential event in my life.
