Abominable – The Movie, Not The Snowman

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 15th, 2006

Fangoria Magazine reports that a new Bigfoot film will premiere next month. Lance Henriksen will be in this one. I hope that it is better than Sasquatch, which he starred in. Let’s hope that this new Bigfoot movie doesn’t live up to its title…

Abominable

Director Ryan Schifrin, producer Theresa Schifrin and stars Matt (HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE) McCoy and Haley Joel will host the April 10 world premiere of their Bigfoot chiller ABOMINABLE as part of FANGORIA’s Monster Mondays screening series. The ABOMINABLE Big Apple debut will take place at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater (155 East 3rd Street and Avenue A).

Abominable

McCoy stars in ABOMINABLE as man in a wheelchair who spots a rampaging Sasquatch from his window while recuperating at a remote cabin retreat. The creature feature also boasts genre vets Lance Henriksen, Jeffrey Combs, Tiffany Shepis and Dee Wallace Stone in its cast. ABOMINABLE will unspool at 7 p.m.

See FANGORIA #253 (on sale April 18) for an ABOMINABLE preview.

A rampaging Sasquatch? Not too sure about this one. Sounds like it’s a cross between Rear Window and the Twilight Zone episode Nightmare at 20,000 feet. Could be interesting, but I’ve never been impressed with any crypto movie made. I hope it doesn’t join the ranks of such modern classics as Dinocroc and Mansquito.

  2. darkworx responds:

I’ve heard of this movie 2 years ago! Finally they’re releasing it!!!

  3. pteroophia responds:

Nothing will ever beat Harry and the Hendersons, modern day classic

  4. lakebeast75 responds:

This film has been waiting to be released for a long time as darkworx mentioned. Here’s the link for the official website of the movie for anyone wanting to view the trailer.

  5. Ole Bub responds:

Harry is still my favorite….it’s hard to conceptualize the girth and mass of Bigfoot til you see one up close….the Patterson film helps put it perspective….if she was petite by BF standards imagine a big one….I suspect they have personalities same as us….hate to see one with PMS or an attitude up close…

I watched the trailer…all the more reason not piss one off… during both my sightings I was armed…I’ve hunted much of my adult life….a Magnum pistol brain shot, or a HP rifle vital chest wound would bring one down…anything less would be a disaster…IMHO

I carry a 12 gauge 3 inch Magnum pump with slugs and buck shot, a 7 MM Remington Magnum, a .357 Magnum….a 120 pound Rottweiler and two digital cameras with spotlights in my truck….I never leave home without them….

    seeing is believing

I guess I could make some negative comments, but our Bigfoot documentary has even less of a budget for recreating the cryptid. So their costume is actually quite good when compared to the no-budget creation I made in my garage for the docu-film. Thank God I have an understanding friend with huge shoulders and a good sense of humor. It’s nice to see general interest in the creature, even in this kind of genre.

  7. stompy responds:

You sound like a nut Ole Bub. Are those the Feds I hear out there in the bushes? Nope- must be some bigfeets…time to blow the claymores

  8. pteroophia responds:

Yeah Ole Bub, if you wanna catch one just use a massive cage with some tastie tidbits inside and do it humanely. Then you could call it Harry and have it live in your house!

  9. Ole Bub responds:

You girls need a sense of humor….ole bub is probably the only person here who has seen one….twice….both my sightings are reported and have been investigated…one by Daryl Colyer of the TBRC…

I would never shoot one unless it was threatening other folks….I’ve drilled, owned and operated oil and gas wells in the prime Sasquatch habitat of Eastern Oklahoma over thirty years and have lost hundreds of thousands in equipment and oil thefts over those thirty years….around here we protect ourselves and our loved ones…

Only a fool would go in certain areas of Eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana or East Texas unarmed…there are guarded and booby trapped marijuana plots and moonshine stills especially in the Kiamichi Mountain wilderness areas….the bigfella would be the least of your worries…

My guns are loaded…my knives are razor sharp and my dawgs bite…enough said…

to ole bub. #1 I usually never comment, but how could you talk about having several guns and and a rott. to hurt this creature? #2 if you had really seen it you wouldn’t want to hurt it,you would want to understand it. that is if you are human. I have a rott. two matter of fact and they are to protect me from humans, like thiefs, crackheads, etc. I personally have had several sightings…..experiences. etc. and would never talk of hurting this creature. creatures……… I’m sorry, that i have gotten angry and went overboard on my opions again, but I have seen these creatures all my life growing up in michigan, and i now live in texas. and not one time have i ever thought of harming it. and i dont think it ever thought of harming me. anyone reading this can call me crazy, but i am about as sane as they come nowadays and stand firm in what i have seen and believe and can tell you where to go to find these creatures. {plural} Anyone that believes please let me know. but not to harm them. And to ole bub, my husband used to night watch the oil rig in east texas, and i used to go with him, i am more afraid of thiefs than bigfoot. {AND I LOVE THE MOVIE HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS}…………. JULE

    Jujubean….

“What we have here is a failure to communicate”….it’s my fault….I tried unsuccessfully to post a comment clarifying my previous posts…a few days ago…..

The subject of my first post was the movie “Abominable”….the movie trailer showed shots fired and aggressive behavior….

Having seen one or more of these magnifcent creatures you are aware of their size and mass…..only a well placed shot would kill one….anything else would only wound and provoke…neither is a pleasant thought….

The late Grover Krantz and John Green…both felt only a body would satisfy the scientific community….I don’t care what the scientists think….if you have seen them…you don’t believe…you know..

I have always been and remain opposed to killing a Sasquatch….under any circumstance short of the defense of others….

I carry firearms in my truck for a variety of reasons…primarily for theives and venomous snakes. Stolen vehicles are frequently stripped and abandoned on our leases, even an occasional body dumped…theft of equipment and oil is a constant problem.

Regarding Rotties…I’ve been active in Rottweiler Rescue in Oklahoma and Texas over thirty years…if you Google Rottweiler Rescue in Oklahoma….I’m the first person listed….

I would love to discuss your numerous sightings have you reported them to TBRC or the BFRO?

I apologize for offending you….I moderate several message boards and frequently use humor and country witticisms in my posts….I loved Harry…too

    seeing is believing….all the best

    ole bub
