Another Squamish Sasquatch Caught on Video?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on August 25th, 2014

Back in May, a video of a purported Sasquatch in the Tantalus Mountain range near Squamish, B.C. was all over the news.

Now comes news of a similar video near the same area:

WARNING: Explicit Language

After hiking to the top of Panorama Ridge near Black Tusk Mountain, we spotted what appears to be a Sasquatch, Yeti or Bigfoot type animal.

***This was shot on an iPhone 5s ZOOMED IN to maximum.***

We estimate the sighting to be about 2km away. Our gut feeling was that is was not human based on the amount of rugged land it covered & the way it was moving down the glacier.

We are hoping that someone who has had similar encounters can justify the video!

GPS coordinates of the sighting :

49.966310,-123.016615

ahhhh… so now.. everyone who video’s something and isn’t sure what it is… must be a bigfoot!

  2. sasquatch responds:

How come these morons didn’t even run to the next little green hill and get closer?

  3. DWA responds:

Well now, gang, we just aren’t close enough to tell anything about what is really going on there.

I didn’t see anything in particular that would make me think that wasn’t a person, though.

  4. DWA responds:

sasquatch: um, somebody needs to climb himself a mountain sometime.

There’s no way under those circumstances that I would have adjusted perspective for a “better look,” because there was no way short of a hi-power spotting scope that I was ever gonna get one, from the most cursory read of the terrain. And given what it likely took them to get there I sure wouldn’t expect them to “run” – fast, over scree with no trail at what looks well over 6,000 feet – to get it.

And I’m just not seeing anything making the game worth the candle. Climbers – which that very likely was – can move very fast on steep terrain.

Real!!! ….*cough* kidding….shirtless guy dead give away!

  6. Peter Von Berg responds:

Well, I’m usually the skeptic here, particularly when it comes to videos. But – I find this piece of film impressive, dumb teenagers or not. The subject is bipedal. The subject is huge. The subject is traveling at tremendous speed. Of course there could be some kind of camera or film trickery involved, but I’ll leave that to the camera and film experts.

Having just returned from a hiking trip to the mountains, I can say a few things. First, DWA seems right that moving to the hill would not have helped, based on the optical size of the figure, I’d say that it was half a mile to a mile away from them, so moving the extra ten to twenty yards or so wouldn’t done much, especially on an iPhone camera. However, the human eye can see a lot more detail than the camera. So, assuming some of these guys had 20/20 or corrected vision, they’d be able to make out details of the figure, clothes, backpack, fur, etc. A debrief would be interesting.

Also, and for the record, it would take considerable effort to hoax, not impossible, but a lot. If you look at the terrain, and the distances, the figure would have had to hike about 1 1/2 to 3 hrs just to get where it was and just to shoot a one minute thirty second hoax. Again, not impossible, but a lot of work. You would also think they would have brought a better camera, if it was an intentional hoax.

None of this of course proves it’s a Bigfoot, but subjectively, to me it looks similar to the Marble Mountain figure.
