Bigfoot and Halloween … What do they have in common?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on October 31st, 2005

The article from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram came out today on Halloween. I don’t suppose that it was a coincidence that it was published today?

During a radio interview (download of 5.8 MG) for KDMX 102.9 last week, I was asked if at Halloween, I see lots of people wearing Bigfoot costumes. Can’t say that I have ever seen ANYONE wearing a Bigfoot costume at Halloween.

Last week in an interview for the Waco Tribune-Herald, the reporter asked Daryl Colyer if he had a Bigfoot costume and was he dressing up for Halloween. Granted, the question was asked tongue-in-cheek, but nonetheless, it was asked.

For some reason, people associate the two…I never have. I believe it has something to do with the public perception that Bigfoot is a "Monster". That’s not the case. We are dealing with an, as yet unclassified by mainstream science, elusive primate.

Another example: "Yet, not all strange creatures around these parts hover in the air or swim in the salty brine. About a quarter century ago, along Route 151 in the neighboring town of Mashpee, a “Bigfoot” sighting occurred."

And yet another: "A Bigfoot-like creature has been sited along the rolling hills of Crowley’s Ridge in western Lawrence County off and on for several years, most recently in the mid 1980s."

And again: "Rogers – Cross Hollows – There have also been reports of a "bigfoot-type" creature in the area, not unlike the Boggy Creek Monster."

Hard to believe, but one more: "Old Agency – Agency Village – witnesses say they seen sighting of LITTLE GREEN MEN and BIGFOOT.A man and his son were hunting in some hills in agency Village.the mans wife was waiting for them for 2 days but they never came back.People say they were killed by bigfoot and heard loud screams of a kid and a man.now When people go hunting in the hills they say a man and the kid are haunting the hills."
