SAN ANTONIO –

Nearly a year ago a self-described professional Bigfoot hunter claimed to have shot and killed one of the creatures in San Antonio.

The alleged incident was featured in a documentary released last year that left more questions than answers.

On Thursday Rick Dyer finally released pictures of the alleged beast’s body (see below).

“Bigfoot is 100 percent real — there’s no question about that,” Dyer said.

Dyer claims he shot and killed the mythical creature in a wooded area on the northwest side near Loop 1604 and Highway 151 in early September 2012.

Until Thursday Dyer never provided any proof beyond a grainy video clip he shot of the big beast outside his tent. More video was included in the documentary “Shooting Bigfoot,” but it failed to impress skeptics.

Following a lengthy battle with his investors, Dyer said he was finally able to reclaim the body.

“I have been worried for so long. I have been put off for so long, and finally we went up to Washington (state) and we got the body,” Dyer said. “Every test that you can possibly imagine was performed on this body — from DNA tests to 3D optical scans to body scans. It is the real deal. It’s Bigfoot and Bigfoot’s here, and I shot it and now I’m proving it to the world.”

Dyer has let more than 100 people see the body up close and recorded their reactions.

“We wanted to get people’s reactions, make them believers, and we did it to over a 130 people,” Dyer said. “We definitely made them believers.”

Despite a history of past Bigfoot hoaxes, Dyer insists he’s not fooling around this time.

“Bigfoot is not a tooth fairy — Bigfoot is real,” Dyer said. “The most important thing to me is being vindicated, letting people know that I am the best Bigfoot tracker in the world and it’s not just me saying it.”

Dyer plans to hold a news conference in the coming days, where he will show the full body and release the test results.

Following the big reveal, Dyer plans to take the body on tour across the U.S., Mexico and Canada. He said he will charge a small fee to view the body.

Dang, guess he will get the ten million.

  2. DWA responds:

Well, I can say this for certain: he bagged a mythical beast, all right.

  3. Justin Genesis via Facebook responds:

You really need to stop reporting anything from this hack, how many times has he been proven to be a lying huckster (and a very bumbling poor one at that) out to try to make quick cash. Thereby by continuing to report on his BS you are vicariously co signing and approving of his antics which degrade the Cryptozoology field in general as well as your sites credibility.

  4. William responds:

This is hilarious that anyone is taking this hoaxer seriously. Anyone can see he is trying to pass a photo of the Travelocity Gnome off as bigfoot. It doesn’t resemble in the least the other fake bigfoot in his video. If he charges money for this fraud he won’t be out of jail very long…. he is either insane or insanely stupid…

  5. treyrowell3 responds:

i saw the second photo almost a year ago,and his name was not associated with it at that time, guys like that are an embarrassment to those of us who have had experiences we cannot explain, shame on him

  6. Mark Jaramillo via Facebook responds:

I was always intrigued by the tent video. At the very least, Dyer’s actions confirm the video was a hoax.

  7. RedLandsBigfoot responds:

    What a joke!….

  8. MountDesertIslander responds:

Well, it would help if the face of ceature captured on video remotely resembled the face of the “creature” he wants to take on tour. Perhaps there are two different species of “mythical beasts” wandering around San Antonio.

  9. dconstrukt responds:

convinced this guy is VERY lonely and/or mentally ill.

  10. William responds:

His first hoax with the bigfoot costume in the freezer with possum intestines was vastly more realistic looking than this silly fabrication. Maybe he is going for the comedic effect this time?

Who knows, maybe we all have him pegged wrong and he really is a genius conducting a study on how stupid people are and easily fooled?

  11. Wolfy1 responds:

What a crock this is. First in the picture of the Bigfoot outside of the tent there is absolutely no hair on the bigfoot’s face. Then minutes later where he says that he shot the bigfoot it all of a sudden has a face full of hair. How in the hell did bigfoot go from clean shaven to a full mustache and beard after death. this is a joke. Pasted on hair to a plastic or plaster mold if I ever saw one.
