I saw the snowman at a local fair in the summer of 1968 or 1969. 50 cents to view the body. I thought the body had disappeared years ago and couldn’t be located. Needless to say when I saw Shipping Wars tonight I was stunned.

  2. Goodfoot responds:

There is NO SUCH WORD as “unthaws”!!!

  3. hoodoorocket responds:

I don’t know “unthaw” seems like a perfectly cromulent word to me.

  4. hoodoorocket responds:

@ oldman1, I know this post is getting to be an old one, but I would love to hear your recollections and impressions of seeing the iceman.

It would be great to have the whole picture laid out, the carnival, your age, your expectations, and the walk through, finally seeing it, and your feelings afterwards. I love carnival history, and the rite of passage that sideshows were. That stuff is all but gone now.

@ Craig, is there anyway to contact oldman1 and invite him to post his story?

  5. DWA responds:

    So.

Is “unfreezes” what you do to water to make ice?

  6. hoodoorocket responds:

@ DWA, that would certain embiggen our understanding of the process.

This gives me a great idea! UNFREEZEE POPS! Eat them unfrozen!

Slap some zombies on the packaging, give the different colors silly names like brain pink and corpse green… I think we got us a goldmine in the making!
