Giant Humanoid Creatures Sighted in Antarctic Waters

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on November 16th, 2013

Since the ’90s, crew members on Japanese research vessels in the Antarctic have reported multiple sightings of a giant ice creature they call the “Ningen.”

These figures are usually described as pure white, measuring up to 100 feet long, and vaguely humanoid in appearance, although they seem to lack facial features and some are reported to have fins, flippers or mermaid-like tails.

Sites like Pink Tentacle and Mysterious Universe have offered many theories about the Ningen, but so far nothing conclusive has been found. Videos purported to be visual documents of the creature have also been circulating, including the clips below:

Nice – Ningen! Like that. There are other photos and reports of this creature about. I believe one theory is that this is some sort of unknown giant albino ray but it’s very odd looking.

Maybe, when looking at these things, we need to remember that we’ve only really documented 20% of what we might have living in our oceans. It might also be worth bearing in mind that the Kraken turned out to be real in the sense that giant squid are now proven to exist.

  3. Steve Schaper via Facebook responds:

I don’t think that is a hominid, at all. looks like a fish in the video. In the still it could be a sea slug or cephalopod as well.

  4. Darren Bigelow via Facebook responds:

    sea nephilim

  5. Glenn Bryce via Facebook responds:

This is very obviously a meme / hoax, creepy as it is. This is not made clear in the Cryptomundo post.

  6. Glenn Bryce via Facebook responds:

    From Pink Tentacle:
“For the most part, the existence of the Ningen is considered an urban legend. Much of the information about this rumored creature can be traced back to a series of posts on the 2channel forums, written by a person describing the experience of a friend employed on a government “whale research” vessel.”

  7. DWA responds:

Well, only an idiot would attempt to dismiss this solely on the basis of what’s presented.

How much do we really know about what lives in the waters down there?

Much speculation has gone on about what kinds of animals live on other planets. I’ve seen considerable about animals very similar to this one.

Well, why not here, where we know conditions are more conducive to life than they are anywhere else?

  8. Caddyfan responds:

Sounds cool, but I doubt these things exist.

  9. Phteven Frerichs via Facebook responds:

Wasn’t this a scene from some sort of documentary, or mockumentary?

  10. Amado Sagasta via Facebook responds:

i cant trust cryptomundo after that elves post lol

  11. Mark Bishop via Facebook responds:

Is this before or after they slaughter the whales?

  12. shmargin responds:

The videos dont look like they show anything, especially the second one, I could film my bed sheets in the dark and get a better monster video than that, and the picture is obviously fake. What the heck cryptomundo, why do you guys keep posting stuff lately that can be so easily disproven if you used google?

Or if its not that, its beef jerky commercials.

Craig before anyone dismisses these things out o’ hand remember the Japanese Samurai faced Heikegani Ghost Crabs

  14. AreWeThereYeti responds:

Well, if they run out of whales in the Antarctic then, maybe, Paul Watson & the Sea Shepherds can run interference for the Ningen?
