In Memorium: Dr. Grover Krantz

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on February 23rd, 2014

12 years ago this month, the scientific community lost a great man.

Dr. Grover S. Krantz, a professor of anthropology at Washington State University, started his study of Bigfoot in 1963. After examining Bigfoot footprint casts he became convinced that Bigfoot is a real flesh and blood creature.

As a professor of anthropology, his specialty was human evolution and he wrote ten books on that topic, plus sixty academic articles.

He received a lot of criticism for his beliefs about Sasquatch, yet continued steadfastly to study available evidence and to speak publicly at Bigfoot conferences. At the time of his early research he was the only professional scientist willing to speak out in favor of a belief in Sasquatch.

Dr. Krantz passed away on February 14, 2002

I seems like only yesterday I read of Dr. Krantz’s passing. I lost the hero i always tried to emulate; he broke down the door and defied others to enter (the Meldrums, the Bindernagels, et al). A true colossus in the study of giants; I miss him every day.
