It Came From the UFO? The Creature-Lights Connection

Linda Godfrey has posted a new blog concerning the connection between cryptid canids and UFOs:

One question I hear a lot from radio callers, blog readers and conference attendees is whether I think that unknown, upright canine creatures are related to UFOs. It’s actually a concept that’s been around for some time and is also asked in regard to Bigfoot and other cryptids. My usual answer is that while I don’t have any reports from witnesses who’ve seen a dogman hopping directly off a UFO (although I know there are a few cases where people have claimed this about Bigfoot), it just so happens that places where mystery creatures abound are also often UFO hotspots.

A perfect example of this type of area is the northern unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest which stretches through Sheboygan, Fond du Lac and Washington Counties in Wisconsin. This wooded, well-watered and hilly terrain encompasses the Holy Hill region which has had numerous sightings of upright, wolf-like creatures — probably the most famous of which was the 2006 incident where the DNR’s carcass removal contractor saw one such beast drag a fresh deer from the back of his pickup truck. It’s also an area where many Bigfoot have been spotted, and includes old legends of a Goatman and ancient sacred places to boot.

It’s just as well known for its UFO activity. The city of Hartford, in fact, was named the site of one of the Top 10 UFO Cases of 2012 by the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON. The incident occurred July 13 when a woman in her 50s and her daughter both saw a silent, lampshade-shaped object equipped with lights and measuring about two hundred feet long zip over the trees in their yard before shooting away in classic UFO style. The sighting lasted about half a minute, which is actually longer than most sightings of unknown phenomena.

I like to think of myself as open minded and I will at least listen to ideas. I’ve heard of similar stories like this before–most involving bigfoot. On the one hand, the witnesses claim they have seen just that and it has led to a lot of conjecture about a possible link between Bigfoots and UFOs and now Gevaudonian critters. 🙂

On the other hand, I don’t know why ufo’s always have to be the culprit whenever we come up against something unknown or in the case of BF and other cryptids, something elusive that we can’t track down or capture. To me it’s the “obviously since we can’t catch it properly on camera or in person, so there must be some force at work.”

In the middle ages it was magic and the devil that got blamed for everything weird and mysterious…and now it seems we’ve moved on. For the latter part of the 20th century and into the 21st, UFOs are the new scapegoat for anything unknown.

I’ve looked into a lot of Bigfoot reports and investigated some first hand now, and for the bulk there is never anything associated with lights in the sky or other UFO behavior.

I’ll give you, there are still a lot of weird things going on out there in the world…some unexplainable (at present), and some down right creepy. However, too many times I think people want a quick, simple answer and so the scapegoat of the day gets pulled in over and over. Aliens is the buzz word of the day.

Pretty simple If we were able to explore other planets with life on them. We would seek out the most intelligent lifeforms first to concentrate on. On said planet every animal would be new and exciting but after spending some time researching we would probably be most interested in finding very rare animals or extremophiles.

On earth we always want to discover new and interesting forms of life I don’t see why it would be any different for any other intelligence.

Crypto people often scoff at the idea of the ufo / Loch Ness connection because it is like sooo hard to believe that and intelligent race would seek out the rare and exotic if they were conducting research on other planets.
