Killing Bigfoot: Swamp Beast

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on March 11th, 2017

Killing Bigfoot: Swamp Beast airs tonight, March 11 @ 9:00 PM CST on Destination America

Jessica and her physically challenged husband Bret live in a heavily wooded area of Texas. They say they’re being terrorized by Bigfoot pounding on the walls of their house, and screaming and wailing in the night. Bret also believes he saw a huge Bigfoot run in front of his car, and so he calls GCBRO to try and locate the creature that is frightening them. The team finds tracks around the house, including a huge handprint in the mud that’s twice the size of a human hand. The final night hunt of the season sends GCBRO in search of a giant, rogue Bigfoot.

These guys aren’t “hunters”. Too many obvious things give them away. A spotlight on the top rail of a rifle and using it at night when you pull the weapon up to use it? Sure… that makes loads of sense. Putting hunters out in the woods and going out to get them if the “see” something? Ever heard of night vision scopes? Utterly ridiculous. The show is a badly orchestrated sham.

The most bewildering thing is that they encounter Bigfoot in EVERY episode. One of the team members has a sighting or a thermal read. They play the same canned Bigfoot call in each show that the team is supposedly hearing. And in one episode a Bigfoot supposedly shook a deer stand they were sitting in – and in another abducted a dog?! The night hunts are pretty silly – I still like watching though for the eyewitness accounts – basically habituation activity.
